Erding is a town situated 35km north-east of Munich, at the end of the S2 S-Bahn line and close to Munich Airport. Its population is 36,000.

The town is famous for the Erdinger brewery, supposedly the world's largest wheat beer brewery. Nine types of wheat beer are brewed there, and their beers are available around the world.

Erding is also known locally for Therme Erding, apparently the largest thermal spa complex in Europe. It is located close to the Altenerding S-Bahn station.

Erding is rather overshadowed by Munich with regards to nightlife, although there is a large cinema complex in the town. Visitors to the town should head to 'Boeuf a la Mode', Lange Zeile 5, for food and drink, or to the Erdinger Weissbier tap a couple of doors away. There is an Irish pub (The Dubliner) at Keltereistr. 2.
