Cinemas in Munich

There are four principal cinemas in Munich that show movies in English. A few other cinemas may also occasionally show English-language films, but the following four are the main ones.

Cinema München is the largest and most popular English-language cinema in Munich. They only have one theatre, but it is quite large. They show all the latest Hollywood movies and occasional foreign-language films.

Museum Lichtspiele also known as "MLS", is a very small cinema. They have four theatres, each seating about 30 viewers. The cinema prides itself on being a 'Kult Kino'. They do screen some Hollywood blockbusters, but they also show lots of low-budget and less well known films.

Mathäser Filmpalast is a cinema complex located half way between the Hauptbahnhof and Karlsplatz Stachus. They have 14 screens that mostly show the latest Hollywood movies dubbed into German. Usually two or three theatres sometimes also show movies in the original version, i.e. English.

Neues Arena has just one theatre which seats about 110 people. They generally show the non-blockbuster films or Hollywood films that have finished playing elsewhere.
