Au

Au is a district of Munich. It is adjacent to Haidhausen. The two are often refered to together, i.e. Haidhausen-Au.

If you're looking for a place to live, this would be a nice area. Of course that means that it's popular, hence apartments are harder to come by (or, rather, they are more expensive).

Lilienstraße is located in Au, as is Mariahilfplatz, Munich's largest square. The Auer Dult fair is held here three times a year. The well-known Bavarian restaurant Wirtshaus in der Au can be found there, as can the Museum Lichtspiele cinema.

Not to be confused with the town to the north of Freising, Au in der Hallertau.
