Sahib Indian Restaurant Munich

Located on the premises that was formerly "Wirtshaus zum Gallmayer", this is an Indian restaurant that seems to specialise in "All-you-can-eat" buffet deals.

Has anyone tried the all you can eat buffet? In fact, has anyone even been here at all? Every time I walk past, the place is deserted. Often, the waiter is standing in the doorway, perhaps hoping to see someone who looks like they're about to visit...

I tried the buffet meal about 4 months ago -Poor quality.

That's a shame. It does look like a nice restaurant. Maybe I'll give it a try myself one day instead of just walking past...

My girlfriend and I went tonight - ordered the Beef Vindaloo and the Butter Chicken - both were excellent, as were the Naans and the rice. Service was friendly. An above average meal.

I checked out the all-you-can-eat-buffet on Saturday. It was 5pm and I was the only guest. While the restaurant has a nice ambiance, the buffet wasn't anything special, I'd say "adequate" at the most. Most of the dishes didn't taste that great b/c quite likely they had been sitting on a hot plate since lunch time. 5 dishes to choose from, only one w/ meat, plus one salad and 2 deserts. Absolutely OK if your goal is to stuff yourself w/ something else than a burger, but not if you want to taste class Indian cuisine. Service was friendly.

A buffet with 4 non meat dishes??? That would be something for me, must try it.

Been there a few times now. Think the food is excellent - big favourite is the vegetable Jalfrezi. I like the place & the people - its a nice easy atmosphere - calming - and well friendly service. Perfect for a mid-week meal... they're also open lunchtimes. Unfortunately - I didn't think much of the buffet ... I think they probably try to please everyone ... also tone down the spices ... But the buffet's only on once a week anyhow - on sundays I think? - so I think the headline above is wrong - "this is an Indian restaurant that seems to specialise in "All-you-can-eat" buffet deals" ...

I've been going to many different Indian Restaurants but the Sahib was the first that I ever went to in Münich and it was due a return. I chose a Chicken Vindaloo, English hot, and was pleasantly surprised at how tasty it was and how hot it was! It was much better than I remembered and comparable to the better Indian restaurants in Münich yet some dishes are cheaper! Obviously some dishes might vary but it's all trial and error! Well worth a visit!

Since I am an Indian, I hunted for an Indian restaurant with true Indian taste and spice. After having friendly relations with many people running Indian restaurant and tasting the food in these reataurants, I believe "Sahib" is the best restaurant for real tasty spicy indian cuisine. But as mentioned earlier... maybe somebody will find it very small and not with good decorations. People and service is also friendly.

All, This place is excellent. Though it lies at the end of a deserted street, I have been here 4-5 times and everytime, the owner was pleased to have me as his customer and offered me Nan / Roti, a free beer / soft drink and a bunch of chocolates all for free. :-) Taste is also very good. Please try it. Sachin

Sadly this place is now closed. There is a new owner who calls it "Everest" - it does not at all give a good impression although I did not try it. The menu at the front does not look inviting, emphasizes their cheap "all you can eat" offers.
