Still waiting to be educated in appropriate, non offensive vocab to enable open discussion of the subject.

My post was completely open and honest and non-offensive.

Not really. Just surprised how fashionable it seems to be.

You are not going to get all defensive I hope.

Ah- the Flummox of the day-    "Fashionable"- It seems you are comparing  being part of the LGBT community to a new pair of shoes or the latest bubble drink?  I do not know your back story, but  you do not seem to understand.

A 30+ year member of the orchestra was fired for presenting a fake vaccine card. They don't even have to be vaccinated, just tested regularly.

Good Lord. What stupidity. But then we terminated the probation of a singer for our band because she had lied to us about not being vaccinated - we can't go on stage with her, so what's the use of any tolerance?

Might as well chuck in my 2p-worth here as well.

To my ears, somebody describing their own family as being "atypical" sounds critical of their own situation. (Absolutely no offense meant here, but that is what I hear).

Whilst it might not adhere to any German "norm", surely it is your own "normal"?

As for being financially dependent upon the breadwinner of the family, well, a divorce would help balance that out somewhat, plus taking on a job, of course.

Just because things are however they are now, does not mean that they have to stay that way forever.

Exactly.
Of course it's easier to stay with hubby and maintain a comfortable lifestyle. But then don't whinge about the price tag said lifestyle carries. It's a valid decision!
There are many examples of successful lavender marriages (being a beard), see Gloria of Thurn und Taxis.

But if personal freedom from the marriage is the goal, why that's valid, too. But then also stop complaining and start acting. Get a lawyer, get spousal/child support, get a job.

I guess "prevalent" would have been a better word to use than "fashionable". Will that trigger anyone today? Still open to being educated in appropriate vocab when discussing homosexuality. I await your input. Kindly refrain from shouty abuse. I  know you are loving folk and will rise to that challenge.

No, prevalent does not seem  a better word.   The fact that  the illegality of being gay is no longer  valid, means the fear that so many felt has  gone. Individuals  can now live their lives openly.

And no more news  of underwear inspection- very tacky.

"Never trust any statistics that you didn't fudge yourself"

Ignoring any debate as to whom this quote should be attributed,

I read this article under the headline :

Quote

Study proves:

Red wine offers protection against corona infection

And an interesting piece of journalism it is too.

Read far enough and carefully enough, it appears as "scientists revisit some 470.000 data records"
and find a correlation (but no causation) that people drinking a little red wine every week
have less issue with Covid.

Probable reason is socio-economic :
If you can afford red wine, then you've probably got sufficient nutrition, healthcare and the

will to use it.

Still, will the "Bild" readers get this far ?? WHo knows and who cares ??
And no, I don't read Bild - but my WEB mail account sent me there B)

What's your excuse?

Bild tells a story about red wine and Covid 19

Flummoxed as my daughter’s colleague at her student job place of work came to work feeling really ill…coughing and spluttering. He said that both his mother and sister had Covid. The manager didn’t think he should be send home as he had tested negative (quick test). Not surprisingly, two days later, he has indeed tested positive and is very unwell despite 3 vaccinations. More common sense would help!

I read a similar article in the UK press…no, I didn’t get any further than wondering if more red wine would help! Oh, and bio red wine must surely be best!😜

If I ignore a user on TT I don't see any initial posts from them. Which is good.

But, if they reply to a post and start quoting from said post, I see their replies and my eyes start to bleed again. Which is bad.

What am I doing wrong?

Flummoxed from Weinheim.

You are not doing it wrong Chelski, the forum software is bad at handling blocked users.

Reading it.

For a lady who's consistently refused to adorn her Carmen Miranda with a self-stabilising turnip to attract the veggie/vegan crowd to her gigs, you may have a valid point.

There's been many conferences held with the voices in my head to try to unravel the mystery of @snowingagain's pictorial puzzle. After much debate, naked wrestling and reflection, our unanimous committee response is:

On the right: Men's toilets with wheelchair accessibilty.

On the left: "Restroom" we all think, is the confusion here. A well known American colloquialism for the shitter. So we're gonna go with... baby changing room. Accessible to a mother or father, even if in a wheelchair. Or Stephen Hawking. Assuming he had a child. Or had stolen one. Just to change the nappy and see the effect on the Universe.

So a greenie to @snowingagain  for making us all think. Hard.

And dragging us out of flummoxication.

Left is handicapped-accessible men's & women's, meaning each stall is a fully closed (floor-to-ceiling walls) room, with shared sinks and dryers. Urinals, if any, are also in full stalls with doors. There's nothing there to indicate it's set up for baby-changing for which there are a couple of signs, either a floating, crooked-limbed stickbaby w/ diaper/nappy or a crooked-limbed stickbaby w/ diaper/nappy floating slightly above a line-table.

The right sign indicates an accessible men's room. Labeled like that, the urinals are out in the open and may or may not have divider panels. Again, no indication of baby-changing accessories.

There's also no indication for the limitation of the handicapped stalls for handicapped-only via the special key that the disabled can get with proof of their disabled status. All of the train and public transport stations have rooms for gimps; Sani.Fresh is required to make the cans available before the turnstile.  I think it's a one-time fee of €23. That's a a hell of a lot more expensive than the "Radar key" in the UK which only costs a fiver, but they'll sell those things to anyone willing to part with a little print of Churchill on plastic feeling a bit blue.

woof.
