Ooh, goodie. I just noticed this and can only assume that I am the troll, new alt and/or $&$@poster of whom you speak.

I assume she has slowly figured out that I am not your sock puppet/alt or whatever.

I have no idea what her current theory is. I bet it’s a juicy one though.

Sounds like you get bad intel. That was never MY theory, but it was someone's theory.

Should I just spill all the tea here and now? You cool with that?

I thought it was yours. Apologies if I was mistaken.

Whether you spill your tea or not is really not my decision.

Nope.

In AlexTr land I am by default a second account of another person, but not you. Apparently more than one person disagreeing with her is not computable. And apparently from her posting history I am the sock puppet account of a man ...

Good that I planned in 2007 a sock puppet accoint already. Otherwise I would be in trouble.

Or, and this is just me spitballing here, some people may have taken over other poster's accounts...but, you know, ...

Image result for tea will be spilled animated gif

But for that you might have to have friends or at least people who didn't detest you.

Honestly no idea what you are talking about.

How do people take over accounts of others? I would take over Fribble's account in a heartbeat.

The truth is out there but it is often an unappetizing truth. I wish it was different.

How come when I'm late for a meeting everyone else is on time and when I'm on time everyone else is late?

The first meeting is if it´s Germans, the second if it´s Greeks!

For the umpteenth time, we tried another Greek guy specialising in walls and glass blocks. We phoned him yesterday around 9 am ..he: " I know where you live..I will be there between 5 and 6 in the afternoon."

Last time we ever heard from him! Doesn´t answer phone calls.

It is NOT a stereotype...heh, 5 years here...they don´t do appointments on time. They don´t even do appointments late!

:D

John, a terrible thought - are the Greek handymen maybe freezing you out?

For the life of me, I don't understand why people voluntarily put listening devices in their homes and actually pay for the privilege. Does anyone have a logical explanation?

Amazon’s (AMZN) Alexa-enabled devices are illegally recording and permanently storing the voices of children without consent, according to a federal class action lawsuit filed this week in Washington state district court.

“The legal theory is very straightforward. These kids themselves never consented, if they even could. No one such as a parent ever consented on their behalf,” Travis Lenkner, one of the plaintiffs’ attorneys, told Yahoo Finance.

In the complaint filed by two law firms, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan and Keller Lenkner, on behalf of an unnamed minor and other similarly situated children, plaintiffs criticize Amazon’s methods, alleging that the company, despite having the choice to scramble or encrypt user voices, instead retains, analyzes, and uses actual voice recordings so that it can deploy them for commercial benefit.

“Amazon purports to obtain consent to record individuals who set up an Alexa-enabled device,” the complaint states. “But there is a large group of individuals who do not consent to be recorded when using an Alexa-enabled device and who use Alexa without any understanding or warning that Amazon is recording and voiceprinting them: children.”

@fraufruit Our new Fire came with a voice activated remote. I turned off the service and put electrical tape over the microphone. I don't get why people want an Alexa.

It doesn’t bother some of us. I don’t have an Alexa, but my daughter does.

I do have the fire remote of which you speak. I haven’t used the voice function, but also haven’t deactivated it.

I gave up on the illusion that I have any privacy long ago and embraced the laziness technology offers.

The best is when you are in the car in the middle of nowhere with your favourite person and things are hotting up   and you unwittingly press that help button that cars have these days in case you have an accident and that you did not even know was there up to this point. And a voice comes out of nowhere asking if you are ok. :o After you have worked out who is talking to you and reassured the person you are fine and do not need help, thanks all the same, and no you have not had an accident... you cannot help wondering how long this voice has been eaves-dropping on what you thought was a private occasion. Oh boy.

I am flummoxed about a minor car body repair. Last week, someone hit my wife's car at low speed in a parking lot. It was a really minor scratch. The appraiser just came back with a €2500 estimate, but only a €250 devaluation if the car. That doesn't seem to fit together.

For the past two or three weeks it's rained all day. Then around 18.00 hrs, the wind drops, the rain stops and it brightens up. Too late.
