Menopause, folks. Gynocologist.

After leaving me to bleed just about non-stop for the best part of a year - it is 2019 FFS - and having refused me hormone treatment on the grounds it is too risky - he (is that a surprise?) now prescribes me progesterone after I told him that the bleeding came to a complete halt a few weeks ago for the first time in months. WTF? Care to explain, anyone?

I would have dropped this doctor when he failed to treat a dangerous condition. Did he do bloodwork? Are you anemic? Was a full hormone panel run?

I got blood tests through the GP. And an x-ray independently. All actually seems to be in order. "Just" the menopause. Nobody tells you endless bleeding for months on end can be a possibility. Which is why I post it on TT. Other ladies need to know they are not terminal if it happens to them.

The gyno does not impress me but it is next to impossible to get another one because they are all over-stretched and refusing new patients. I have been told in the past to present at emergency... not that I am an emergency. It is the only way to see a specialist if you do not want to wait months for an appointment. <_<

Fingers crossed, I'm done.

I fire doctors faster than I fire hair dressers because they can harm your health. I understand your reluctance to change, but I wound up with a crushing anemia that left my health in danger for years and was only resolved by surgery after a disinterested gyno failed to do her job. The progesterone prescription is late. It should have been provided after the gyno received your complaint and ran his own blood test. Sorry that you went through this. I hope you're feeling well and can regain some confidence in this gyno. Be careful with the HRT. Force him to monitor your blood work.

Recently had to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Obviously that threw up loads of problems, moving pictures, syncing etc.

Tried printing off some tickets this morning, spent 30 minutes on the phone as Ticketmaster have problems their end.

AND I found out that my very old printer won't print from my new system. So out to the shops for a new printer/copier/scanner.

I can see hours of frustration in the near future trying to get my head around the most basic of instructions.

Hoops, don't throw that printer out yet - you might still find a Windows 10 driver on the Microsoft site or on the 'Net for it. Just saying. ;)

I think you have been unlucky there.

Most devices that work with Win7 will also work with Win10 (not necessarily the other way round however).

As @Metall says, if you look around you might find a driver for it.

But you need to know what to look for. Lots of spamware out there advertised as 'just install me and I'll find all the latest drivers for you, automagically'

If unsure, only take drivers from m$oft.

Thanks for all the info, I did steam in and go and buy another printer, and although that printed the alignment copy, I can't connect to the laptop.

A friend suggested getting the laptop overhauled as I still use Firefox and he said maybe just use Google and Edge.

I believe I read somewhere that Firefox are gradually withdrawing support and upgrades.

Have got a man coming out today, so hopefully he will fix the problems and get things sorted once and for all.

If you are having trouble printing from the web, you could try something else.

When you go to print you should have an option to "Save as PDF" in the list of printers.  Then you can open the PDF in Adobe (or other reader) and try printing that from there.

If you don't have this option, then you can install CutePDF which will appear then as a printer in your print options.

Why motorbike riders take such chances during overtaking!

We were overtaken by 3 separate bikes riders on 3 separate occasions, none of the moves could be considered safe, and at least one was illegal (overtaking in a turning lane at a junction).

Given that they are so vulnerable why take the risk?  Wait 30 seconds, overtake when it is safe.  Is your life not worth 30 seconds?

As if to prove my point.  In my small town yesterday a motorbike rider was seriously injured when they over took a group of cars in a dangerous manoeuvre.  They failed to notice that The car at the front was indicating to turn left, and then crashed into the side of it.

Just watched Nadal versus Federer in the French Open semi final, what a match. Nadal is back on top form again.

The court was from what I could tell, full of spectators. Yet the other semi final, Djokovic versus Thiem, the seats are maybe only 10% taken.

Been watching some of those "krimis" of the wife's. She has them on in the evening while I'm watching some Youtube gardening or grilling vids and every bloody time the victim gets tape on the mouth and tied to a chair. And at the climax, the bloke holding the gun always gets shot in the nick of time by the father of the girl killed.
