What's got you flummoxed today?

Why people post on internet forums asking for advice and then refuse to accept any advice which does not conform to the opinion that they have already formed!

I am flummoxed that people who persistently make a spectacle of themselves on the internet are surprised when people respond to their posts. :D

Climbing has changed complete since a bunch of old duffers like Joe Brown and Don Whilans did it with old hemp rope on wet greasy Welsh slabs. Even in the 80s it was changing into the gaudy lycra indoor-wall-trained "sports" climbing which Europe knows, not the exploring wilderness experience. The beginning of the end was when Himalayan Kingdoms offered for 30,000 pounds the summit of Everest, as well as the Japanese hotel in Khumbu. (I'll add the ruin of the Kali Gandaki by the road up to Tatopani). The fact is that easier access to the mountains has wrecked the place. There are now people there who simply shouldn't be - the altitude is one of the things which everyone ignores. I've had it climbing up to Stok Kangri Base Camp (5000m) in India. For those who have never had it - it is like the worst hangover ever which only goes after acclimatization or descent. I was too ill to summit Kangri.

The whole Everest thing is now too commercial. For a Youtube of the climbers I mentioned above - that crag in the film is very famous and I've done an easier route on the right of it.

I would say it is likely the disproportionate weight in the front there, but it could be a parkinsonian trait.

Little mushroom or so I've been told.

You should probably think about the company you keep.

That sort of chit chat is not good.

Just FYI: All heterosexual women talk like this about the men in their lives.

No, I listen to all of my heterosexual female friends talk about their boyfriends and husbands. If you had female friends, you might know some things.

ETA: Keep trying, there, boy. One day, you'll get a little wood on the ball.

I know this to be true as just this week my wife told me a story about one of her friends who shared details of an old flame.

In my circles, I have never known any man talk about his wife's lady parts.

No, men stick to breasts and butts. They don't understand the rest of the parts, so they steer clear of that topic.
