As a Texan I miss good Mexican / Tex-Mex.

I refuse to try any more "Mexican" food here, since it is inevitably sweet and not spicy (e.g. salsa, chili, etc). And the corn chips are pre-flavored like Doritos. I understand this is in line with the local palate, but it is not for me.

i found them at a market in stuttgart..i am sure that you can find them somewhere in Munich...try the local markets...havn't seen them at marktkauf or any other grocery store.

as for mexican food...mmm...miss it so much...and what is it with ordering fajitas and they give you three tiny little tortillas for a huge skillet of the peppers and meat...at least back home you get big tortillas.

tell me about getting ripped off. Was at a diner that served "pancakes" and I got "3" pancakes as big as a hand(small hand) and 1 portion of syrup that was the size of a thimble!!!

I miss my eggos "wheep"

I miss my roast beef on rye

I miss affordable lobster

I miss those hot dogs from the hot dog stands in front of the sky dome (with sauerkraut, lol)

Keep it coming, thinking of making a food meet in the summer (hot dogs gall-or)

I keep hearing this from my Texan friends so I was very excited about trying proper Tex Mex on my many recent trips to Houstan and made sure to try several different Tex Mex restaurants. Funny thing, is everything i tasted, even in the really authentic Tex Mex restaurants in Houston tasted no better and really no different than the stuff you can get here. Perhaps not the Sausalitos style tex Mex but anything I've ever had at Escobar, Pequenos or even Tijuana's has been just as good.

Granted, the salsa and queso (if it's even available) here isn't as good but the main dishes are.

In Dresden there are two Bagel shops. There must be ones in other German cities as well.

I discovered Irish Kerry Gold Cheddar grated in bags in one of our local REWE supermarkets.

REWE also stock Oreo cookies and vanilla extract in a bottle.
