Hello! I just recently discovered this forum! Very excited to see an active community of English speakers in my area. I live in Kaiserslautern, but love HD! My husband is stationed in KL in the US Army. I don't think I can make it to the 8 Mai meetup. But, will keep checking back for an opportunity to participate in some group activities soon.

 

BTW, I enjoy hiking, biking, horseback riding, music, beer and wine festivals and going out for drinks. If you live near KL and like to do any of these things, feel free to get in touch off this forum.

I should also be able to make it on Friday, although I will be late (I should get there somewhere between 8 and 9pm), I hope this isn't a problem.. Is there some easy way to recognize the group? Or should I just look out for the rowdiest bunch of people there? :)

Anyone know if the City Beach allow dogs? I went to one in Speyer where dogs weren't allowed last year.

city beach is doggy friendly, or at least i have seen a few there. They just have to be on a lead and get on with other dogs as i doubt they'll be alone if the weather is good.

The weather forcast for friday in mannheim in thunder storms in the evening.

 

This makes me think it might be better opting for tomate as there are outside and inside tables there. What do people think? I can ring later and book a table if we want too city beach i think is no booking just take pot luck when someone gets there.

Not just in Mannheim, thunderstorms (also dark clouds) are showing up for my plan on Friday. I would not be able to make it. I am having guests on Friday (people I could not say NO to) and they are hardcore Germans, I am sure they are not going to enjoy our banter... so it is off the list for me... I would be looking out for the next one though... and come hell or high water, I will be there

ok i took the bull by the horns and booked a table for 15 people at Tomate. I can change the amount of people at a later date if more want to come i just took a rough number.

 

Its book for 7pm under the name Toytown. I know not all people can make it that early possibly me for one but we'll have the table for the evening.

 

good news the promotion is cocktails for 4 euros shame i can't drink alcohol at the moment.

for dogs i have no idea about tomate, you'd need to ring them but its quiet a small place so maybe not the best place to take them.

 

weather source was wetter.com and the day was good but the thunder storms in the evening. it may well not happen but i don't wanna take the chance at City beach as there is no cover there really.
