Things you love about Munich

50 posts in this topic

My likes about Munich: a very livable, friendly and orderly city... all the advantages of the big city with a small town feel to it...people watching @ Odeonsplatz or Marienplatz... Weissbier! And green... oh so green with its parks and gardens!!

did nobody mention oktoberfest?!

Also, what a wonderful atmosphere. Everybody's so friendly and open.

It's so multicultural

Always something to do - a fest for every season, a restaurant for every budget

It's safe

Wonderful distinct seasons

A great city for every age

Munich seems like an exceedingly well-preserved city, or well-rebuilt, at least.

Alt-Perlach is amazing. There are houses here which are over 500 years old, and they have little plaques describing what the house used to be.

I live in a huge condo shaped like the old houses. I have a little wooden balcony! Everything seems to be made of wood around here!

And such a cute little stream! Hachinger Bach, they call it.

Everything is so green! It's like every street has trees in it, and some have multiple rows of trees.

They have forests that stretch for MILES, and a crazy amount of parks, plus there are flowers everywhere, people decorate their houses with HUNDREDS of flowers.

Plus everybody cycles. It's flat, and bike lanes are everywhere, even outside the city, and even in places where there aren't any, people drive carefully and yield to me.

They even have little plaques telling you where you are in the middle of the Perlacher Först. And maps.

Public transportation is also awesome...

i like it cause it's like an english city ,you go in the centre and theres all the shops you ever want...you notice this after living in italy, suppose its because they still have medeval layouts?

also the parks are nice( not many in verona...

good choice of eating out.(much better than verona)...

beer gardens...

a nice place in europe that i could live for sure....but lake garda in the summer would keep me here.

vs, you do know that Munich is Verona's sister city? Have their city council come for a visit and show them how to improve their city.
