Things you love about Munich

After looking out of my window, I have a desperate need for a feel-good thread. What do you love about Munich? Even an unsurpassable moaner like myself likes this city when the weather plays along (..).

 

My favourites are:

The Isar

The English Garden

Beergardens

The Bavarian Alps

The sheer amount of various species of birds stopping over on our balcony in the middle of town every morning

The 3 of 4 squirrels running around on our balcony in the middle of town every morning

The location: Perfect for quickly getting away from

The clouds. Munich has the most beautiful clouds I have ever seen.

The sunsets.

The surroundings as well. On a short distance the beautiful landscapes, and a bit further, the ability to be outside in a totally different country within 1-2 hours of driving.

Munich actually gets twice as much rainfall as London in the summer.

According to Wikipedia, July is the driest month of the year in London, whereas in Munich, it is the wettest month of the year. Never would have thought... :blink:

It drizzles a lot in London though, whereas summer storms here normally pour down. I wouldn't say that the number of hours of sunshine would be more in London than here in Munich.. can't find stats to back this up though..
