Honestly in my mind one of the most underrated composers in Europe. I was given my first Bregovic CD in 2000 as a gift. It blew me away. Everything afterwards has been equally impressive.

The Sarah Mclachlan 'Surfacing' album brings back some powerful memories of a special experience that's come and gone. Specifically this song

Coverdale/Page: Take me for a little while

Now my days are growing cold,

All the memories unfold

Thinking 'bout the friends we lost,

Wondering how to count the cost,

Now my days are growing cold

I can hardly wait any longer,

Now the feeling's growing stronger

Thinking 'bout the times we had,

Good times always turn into bad,

Now my days are growing cold

Why don't you take me for a little while,

Sing me songs, you know, will make me smile

Why don't you take me for a little while

As I watch the rising sun,

I see a new day just begun

Thinking 'bout the sacrifice,

Wondering how to pay the price,

Now my world is growing cold

Why don't you take me for a little while,

Sing me songs, you know, will make me smile, make me smile

Why don't you take me for a little while

So now my days are growing cold,

All my memories been told

Thinking 'bout the dreams we lost,

Wondering how to count the cost

Now my days are growing cold

Why don't you take me for a little while,

Sing me songs, you know, will make me smile

Why don't you take me for a little while,

Sing me songs, you know, will make, me make, me make, me smile

breathe by sia. Probably because i was watching six feet under as a 'kind of' therapy after a bereavement. Also, when i was younger and audio cassettes still existed, a kylie minogue tape got garbled/magnetized. When it played back it sounded so freaky but beautiful, somehow angelic.

"you can't put your arms around a Memory"

I think it was a B-side...Pete from the "Mighty Wah" (some Scouser singing about the Story of the Blues)

took me years before i got to use that line myself...havent heard it for over 20 years, but ist still in my head

Not really the sentimental type but these songs are a little moving.

"Angie" by the Rolling Stones

"Tangerine" by Led Zeppelin

"Men of Harlech" not even Welsh but I heard it sung at a soccer game onetime by several thousand people when I had a few beers in me and it was stirring.

"It's understood, you'll be a man
By the time I'll see you
We've been through better days
And you've tasted all my pain
Break my legs so I won't walk to you
Cut my tongue so I can't talk to you
Burn my skin so I can't feel you
Stab my eyes so I can't see
You like it when I let you walk over me
You tell me that you like it
Your love is killing me
Try to tell you this when I'm sober
How I feel about loving you
Try to remember all the turn of events
Being led by our own fantasies, fantasies"
