The old way of embedding no longer works for me. Does the new forum software no longer support tags?

I've just embedded a youtube video.

Above your post, click on the symbol for 'Insert media' (last one on the right) and then add the youtube URL in the box.

That should do it.

Over and out.

Thanks for the Media tag tip. It however doesn't work. It was the first thing I tried last week already.

The only words I understood in this video are "upgrade it"...

Code looks like this:

I did upgrade and have no problems seeing your video for example. Now using IE 8. Still doesn't work. Doing just that, clicking on Media, insert link, basta. Code exactly the same as yours and still it doesn't work. This is my code. Of course, I am only including the Code Tag for you to see. I am not trying to embed with a media and a code tag. Not that daft.

Edit:

Isn't it bizarre? I quote your post and your embedded vid gets shown using the exact same code. Wtf?

And I know where that extra parameter came from:

If you click Germany, you'll get

for your URL. Note the gl=DE there.

I didn't want to click on Germany, I did see that. I prefer to have my settings set to worldwide. I however don't understand why the country tag should make the embedding with the media tag impossible. Have to read up on that when I have time. Thanks once again for your trouble looking into it!

Well that is weird. My youtube is set to worldwide but I had no issue posting it to here.Is it possible it has to do with the original poster/uploader's setting?

Well not all parameters break it -- the "popular" one seems to be fine, as evidenced above. Maybe just the ones that come before the v= aren't ok. IPB will probably make a patch for that.

And if you've set your preference to "Worldwide - All", then you get gl=US in your URLs. I don't get anything funky in my URLs because I never clicked on anything in that window when it came up.
