Since this thread is aged, I'll ask for up-to-the-minute advice:

 

I need to purchase & download an English version of Office For Mac asap. I have been caught in a loop trying to do this online. No matter how I try it, I always end up at a Deutsch-only download site.

 

This is pretty urgent. Any advice on how to do this would be welcome.

 

Or if someone has a extra license they want to sell me, that would be great.

17 years later still asking the same question. Microsoft is really pushing Office 365 subscriptions, seems reasonable at 7€ per month but that adds up over time. I followed this route. I bought Office for this peanuts sum. All good for several months, then it simply stopped working, no idea why. Bought it again for peanuts, again worked 100% good for several months, then it stopped. Fed up and went for one of the free, non-Microsoft, versions. All good since.

Yes, get the "to buy" version "Microsoft Office 2021 Professional" instead of the "rental" version "Office 365".

The "rental" version "Office 365" always has the lastest features, but most people do not use them anyway, so just buying the software instead of renting it, is a no-brainer.

 

These licences for 4€ are bulk OEM licences, i.e. licences that had been bought as a package of tens of thousands and were then split up.

Microsoft tried to get this stopped by the courts, but it is legal in Germany, Germany's high court, the Bundesgerichtshof and later the European Court of Justice ruled that bulk licences are allowed to be split up and re-sold: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gebraucht-Software

I suggest buying from LizenzDoc (but go in through the Idealo price comparison link, do not search directly for it on the LizenzDoc web site or you will pay more!), they also provide a proper invoice which comes automatically by e-mail:

1. create a free account on LizenzDoc.de
    
2. go on the Idealo.de price comparison website, search for "Microsoft Office 2021 Professional" and then enter the LizenzDoc website through the Idealo link to buy the "Microsoft Office 2021 Professional" licence:  https://www.idealo.de/preisvergleich/OffersOfProduct/201968570_-office-2021-professional-microsoft.html
   
    
3. after a few hours (if you order at night, the next day), you will find the Microsoft Produkt Key (5 groups of 5 characters) in your LizenzDoc

   If you already have a free Microsoft account enter your login details, if you don't yet have one, create it by clicking on "Create new account" (and
   write down your Microsoft login details, keep them in a safe place).
   --> now enter your Microsoft account login details and it will ask you to enter the Microsoft Product Key you just bought.
    
5. it will now download and install the Microsoft Office 2021 Professional package to your PC

 

The only downside is that legally, you need to buy one licence per PC.

So if you also have a laptop, you will need to buy a second licence for it, but at 4€ per licence, that is not really a hardship.

Be aware that an oem license is not just limited to 1 pc it is limited to that PC where it was first activated on! If you buy a new PC or replace the motherboard in the original you will need a new license!

So my Office 365 subscription has been cancelled and I have Office, thank you so much - took a few attempts to get it downloaded but it is now on my computer. One minor change is they send the link by email rather than sofort downloads. Again thanks!!!!!

Yes the email has a link to both German and English

Quick  note when opening the compressed file you have two options, Set Up and Start - forget which one to click on but if you get error message simply click on the other lnk

OK quick update: don't be an idiot like me and forget to activate it. I missed it as they put it at the end of the German instructions. Had deleted the email so had to repurchase it. No real hardship.  Just cntrl F and  Hier erhalten Sie einen Key für 1x PC-Aktivierung and you will find it.
