Probably the best chocolate cake in all of Munich is the chocolate rum truffle cake sold at Allois Dallmayr on Marienhof.   It consists of a thin base of pastry, covered by two thin layers of chocolate sponge with fudge in between, all topped with a final deep layer of more chocolate fudge.   This is possibly the richest cake you'll ever eat. Buy one on a Friday evening and you won't need to eat anything else all weekend. A bargain for just €13.50.   During advent the cakes are offered with a marzipan angel on top. I'd choose without the angel though. They cost an extra €7, they don't taste that great, and they're totally gay anyway.   The catalogue number is 6629. This particular cake is not available via the Dallmayr online shop though.
