Do you own a pair of Crocs?

I have a pair of lilac coloured crocks and I LOVE THEM!!!

When I get home from work, the first thing I do is take my shoes off and put on my crocs. My kids hate them and have warned me to never wear them outside the house and that's fine.

They are just soooooo comfortable.

I bought some when I was pregnant with my third. So comfy around the house and by the time I was 9 months I didn't give a damn whether they were stylish or not so wore them everywhere.

I still wear them around the house occasionally. One day i rushed out of the house to pick-up my son from Kindergarten last winter and realized after I was halfway there that I still had the Crocs on. Apparently I wasn't as late as I thought and had to wait a good 10 minutes with the rest of the moms. You should have seen their faces. It took everything in them not to bust out laughing at me, but I wore them proudly with a biggol grin on my face while utterly embarrassed on the inside.

I have three pairs (the second two because they were selling them in Dublin airport for less than half-price - no wonder the shop ended up closing down) but they're all starting to get a bit worn down now. You can send them off for recycling if they get beyond usable (or you could when I first looked into buying them and I assume you still can). I thought they were the most ridiculous looking things when I first saw them but when I knew I was moving over here I needed to find something to wear during the summer which wouldn't make my feet and legs hurt (since I wouldn't be wearing my orthotics). I had started looking at things like MBTs but from what I read on various website, they probably would have made my problems worse and my chiropodist said she wouldn't recommend them at all. So slowly discounting most things I wound up going for Crocs. They're the only things I can use to walk for any length of time in and since I don't have a car, I spent a good bit of time walking so it suits me. But I think you do have to go for real ones (not necessarily just crocs, there are a couple of other similar ones available) rather than the 5 euro plastic or rubber type which seem to me to be really hard and uncomfortable.

One thing I will say is that for shoes that are supposed to be ideal for wearing on boats, crocs are probably some of the slippiest shoes I've ever owned and I've learned to only walk very slowly if it starts raining.

I want to get some Birkenstocks again soon as I had them before and they were good too. Then they got stolen. As did my similar pair of Rohde sandals. Hmmmm, maybe someone is trying to tell me something about my choice of footwear but at least so far no-one has stolen my crocs :D

I bought some rip-off non-crocs for 4€ just to try them out and although I found them comfy for slipping on to take the garbage out etc. they are not really any good for walking because they don't give you any support. Maybe the real crocs do, I wouldn't know. I don't wear my fake crocs any more because my cat took a liking to them and decided to chew them up so now they are his chew toys. I have some Timberland sandals though that I really like.

I own a pair of these! They are made of rubber and I use them for gardening. I think I got them in Aldi.

Funny this thread came back up today, as my wife ordered new croc for our daughter from Ebay today. I am in Denmark on work now, and when I need a new pair I get them here (as my feet are large: 49).

I bought mine in Seattle when I worked outdoors at a produce stand for 12 hours a day.

I wear them now at the restaurant I work at.

E-v-e-r-y-o-n-e back home made fun of me for wearing those things at work--no one could be bought off with the "but they're just so comfortable and you wouldn't want me to get vericose veins would you" rationale. Even if they didn't have to stand up for 12 hours a day. No mercy. I even got laughed out of town when they realized the second toe on my right foot is longer than the one on the left foot and sticks out through one of the holes. <_<

At my current job, everyone wears them. Problem solved.

I wouldn't be caught dead in a pair of Crocs. Luckily fewer people seem to be wearing them in my area.

They may be ugly but I love them! I have very arthritic feet and am supposed to use very expensive orthopedic insoles that my insurance wouldn't pay for. Crocs are a godsend! I have 3 pairs of original Crocs, a pair of Mary-Janes, a pair that actually look like suede, and a pair of flip-flops. They come in all sorts of styles now that, unless you told them, people wouldn't even know you were wearing Crocs. If it weren't for Crocs, I'd be practically house-bound. Before my first pair, I could barely get to the end of my driveway before I'd be in so much pain I couldn't walk. Now, I can walk as long and as far as I like with no pain at all!

I got a pair free at some event at work. I keep them in the office and only wear them there.

My son has a pair too (got them free at the same event at work) and loves wearing them to go splashing in puddles outside.

Agree with this. I wear them around the marina - no shoes on the boat other than boat shoes when sailing.

I got over my image issues in my early 40's. Whew!

I find it hilarious that this post came up today because I just ordered two pairs last night! I also think they are hideous, and used to say "over my dead body will I wear those things". My boyfriend bought a pair, and raved about how comfortable they were. So I finally tried a pair of flip flops on, and fell in love. They were still pretty ugly, so I bought them as house slippers. Well I have feet problems to the extent that if I wear flip flops or other flat shoes for a full day of walking, my feet ACHE!! I have a big trip coming up in a couple of weeks, and decided that the only way I will survive walking around all day for two weeks is if I cave and wear my crocs outside of the house. So I ordered two pairs, neither or which look like the traditional crocs that everyone knows (and hates!!). I will keep you updated on how these compare in comfort, but I hate to say, I am ridiculously excited for them to come in the mail!! And by the way if you order 70 euros worth, shipping in Germany is free :D

If you had told me three years ago that I would be praising crocs, I would have fallen on the floor laughing!!

Just went to the website and they have some that are way less ugly than the ones I have seen. I still wouldn´t buy a pair though :)

The ultimate Antichrist for fashion. It combines all that is evil and hideous in the world of footwear.

Uggs, Crocs and the hideous toe-shoes. Ouch.
