Do you own a pair of Crocs?

Don't do that to your kids! just kidding, they are young enough that they won't know any better. Mine would kill me if I showed up with them. Although, I might find show them the picture just to see what they say...

Does anyone know where can I buy them for kids in Munich? Or on the internet?

Thanks!

Here is a list.

Have seen them in the UK, but they just look, well, sweaty really. But I have bronze Birkenstocks so can't really comment on tasteful footwear really.

i remember reading about them in an english fashion magazine last summer predicting they would be the next pair you HAVE to own.

i think they are very ugly and will stick with my birkenstock :)

most shoe shops have them by now. i saw them at tretter couple of weeks ago.

DDBug, yep my kids ARE young enough to think they would be pretty cool, also no buckles, no velcro, no laces. Complete convenience!

Thanks PES.

Now I need a recommendation for some funky Birkies for me...

I think the crocs are alright as long as they're not in any neon colors. Neon yellow and neon pink are big in the states (or northeast at least). I don't know what these freakin people are thinking

I saw them everywhere (Northeast US) last summer when I was home. My aunt had a pair - she wore them around the garden, on the boat (perfect) etc.

The real Crocs are not supposed to stink - but I don't know how exactly they do that?

Question: Of what material are Crocs™ made?

A material we call Proprietary Closed Cell Resin (PCCR) which is NOT plastic NOR rubber. PCCR is closed-cell in nature and anti-microbial, which virtually eliminates odor.

A student running around here at work today has a pair of neon green ones on.

feeding my need for gossip, the daily mail had an article about the rising popularity of Wörishofer's, saying they are the "new" crocs. well, I still find crocs butt-ugly and these bunion-soothing shoes too.

does anyone still wear crocs?

I wear mine whenever I feel like it. Mostly in the marina. They are indestructible - like Pampers.

Fashion be damned. I always go for comfort.

Those Wörishofers just look like another Birkenstock copy.

edited to add that my Crocs are copies - cost 10% of the name brand with same quality.

I don't think I've ever had footwear designed so perfectly for my wide pod like hobbit feet and I have a couple of pairs. They're great for the garden but bloody difficult to walk in if you get them wet.

I've seen medical staff wearing them in hospital - but I would never wear them myself.

I have just come to terms with buying some rather sporty looking sandal type things - 3 years ago. Have even worn them a few times.

I got a pair as a gift last year and I've been pretty happy with them so far. I regularly use them for dinner at Nektar and for going out to P1. They're perfect! I get the odd look because they smell so much, but does it look like I give a damn. No. I believe foot odor should be shared.

And that's my biggest reason to hate them. Have a care for your massage therapist and at least set your feet on fire after wearing those things before you make an appointment with me or I'll eventually have to charge you extra for making my eyes water. :o

Crocs are over, even for kids. My poor daughter was one of the only tikes still sporting them on the playground LAST summer.

The company tried to diversify its line with expensive women's dress shoes, but I think that idea crashed and burned, too.

They're so ugly, as the Paris Hilton clone I'm teaching would say. She's right. My neighbour who's a physio wears them, another neighbour who's a nurse wears them. Yuck!!! I'm all for comfortable foottwear, but you have to draw the line somewhere. Think what an Italian would say.

An Italian (myself) says they are ugly, but that's my personal opinion. They were quite popular in Italy too, but that was two or three years ago, and of course there was a debate about them. Most people found them ugly, anyway.

I think we have to forgive those in the medical profession. Crocs supposedly have anti-microbial properties, and you can sterilize them pretty effectively in the dishwasher. Some farmers I know also wear them out to the chicken coop.

Anyway, since when did medical personnel in Germany wear flattering footwear? When I arrived in 2000 (the Pre-Croc Era), they were all going around in white Birkenstocks.

Ever watched the shopping channel a few years ago? They always sell fly flots which are supposedly the comfiest shoes ever.

Things like Crocs and white birkenstocks should remain within hospital walls :)

apparently they are over 70 years old so not really a copy, but germany is famous for it's old-lady shoes reputation.
