Posted 18 Mar 2007 You didn't say anything of the sort. I just allowed myself to develop your statement to its consequences. Women like to be wooed, yes, they don't like to fall in love and then find out he was just in it for the sex. Why not be honest from the word go? Well I would very much appreciate it if you did not ...develop my statements to its consequences...as I hardly agree with the vast majority of what you generalize about, and they are your conclusions...not mine.

Posted 18 Mar 2007 If you make a statement, I'm fully entitled to do what the hell I want with it. For the umpteenth time, it is clear from this thread that women would prefer men to lie to them than be honest. There's nothing wrong with wooing. But then he must be in it for the long haul. If he just wants a shag, why must he go through all the bullshit? Either you want it or you don't. If you do, then you shouldn't need the wooing. If you don't, you can just politely tell him no thanks.
Posted 18 Mar 2007 MB - those comments were directed at Ulysses and not you. They were his confusing of feminism...I did not mean to imply that you or LR are or are not feminists. However I personally don't agree with you or LR regarding the whole objectifying or denigrating women issue...as related to what Grinner posted. To me that would be...I want to F**K some dumb, fat bitch or I just looking for some P***y. To be direct in what you want is fine, In fact I find it less deceitful than the games that many people play. However, again I find that putting it so bluntly will probably find him few PM's in his box, but that is his perogative. I agree with you. If that is what both people want, sure. It is definetely better to be open and honest rather than deceitful. I still experienced the thread as being discriminatory against women and still do.
Posted 18 Mar 2007 Well I wish Grinner luck in his search, if I still don't get what he has against love. I'd think he'd be grateful for it, considering his self-description. But we all have our faults and hurdles to leap when looking to pair up. It was suggested to me last night that I might be intimidating, though I'm sure I don't know what they meant.

Posted 18 Mar 2007 Isn't it more degrading to woman to make it sound like there is something wrong with just wanting sex? Maybe the younger generation but I have a whole clan of mates who just hunt out fuck buddies and wouldn´t be all too impressed if the guy wanted something more.
Posted 18 Mar 2007 I can't figure out what the whole discussion is about. I don't know if I make things too easy (it suits me though) but I consider it to be a very simple equation: Anything that is mutually agreed to by two adults is ok, even turning people into mere sex objects, the in thing as far as I know in the SM scene. It's nobody elses business anyway. Anything that is achieved by deceiving someone is wrong and inacceptable.
Posted 18 Mar 2007 @Kat Love involves sacrifices and maybe he's just not ready for that. I will say though that I know of a few shag relationships that ended up at the altar.
Posted 18 Mar 2007 well Ulysses it might help you to actually then read my statements as I clearly support the idea of simply wanting a F**k buddy and had no issue with the posting. Oh but wait I am a woman...so can't possibly really believe that @Jack...exactly
Posted 18 Mar 2007 @Kat @MB I never called you a feminist bitch. Please reread that post. And you sure as hell used the word "misogynist". Ulysses, I think we are talking at cross purposes. I wrote: Human dignity is the key here, I think we humans are losing it. You can have sex and enjoy life, but why speak about the opposite sex, whether male or female, as if they are nothing but pieces of meat? I have nothing against people just sleeping with one another, no strings attached. What I do have a problem with is people speaking about the opposite sex in a discriminatory manner, whether male or female, portraying them as pieces of flesh and nothing more. You see a lot of this in advertising. This does have an effect on the psyche of people. I have experienced it myself and have heared it with my own ears. I used the word misogynist for sure, but I never called Grinner a misogynist.

Oh but wait I am a woman...so can't possibly really believe that Actually, I knew that and therefore it wasn't meant as an attack on you. I was simply developing your statement. Ulysses, I think we are talking at cross purposes. I wrote: I have nothing against people just sleeping with one another, no strings attached. When you have a one-night stand or a shag relationship, it's all about the flesh. There're no emotions involved. As long as both are consenting, I see nothing wrong with it.

It's nobody elses business anyway. Anything that is achieved by deceiving someone is wrong and inacceptable. In theory this is great when you don't think about consequences. The problem arises when people who do not think this liberally as yourself start seeing women behave the same way as men do and start using words such as SLUT to describe a women who is living her own sexuality in the same way men do. Men are never called sluts for being sexual. If you travel as a woman to certain countries, for instance to certain Muslim countries, you as a Caucasian woman are very often treated by Muslim men as sluts. I have even been "explained" this by a Turkish Muslim man. The girl on the porno cover is most likely to be nude Caucasian. For some of them that means we Caucasian women are de facto sluts and that it's perfectly ok for them to sexually harass us, hey, we probably love it. In general I believe that as soon as you take away dignity and as soon as you see a person as being below you in some way, it makes it easier to commit a crime against that person. That is the reason why in most of Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East, crimes against women are not seen as something that serious.
Posted 18 Mar 2007 So it's ok to sleep around no strings attached, but it's not ok to talk about it? It's ok to talk about it, but it's not ok to talk about in a way which sounds like you think a person of the opposite sex is worth less than you.

Now where did you read that he thought his fuck buddy was worth less than him? Why must you always read things into everything people write?

This was NEVER my intention! EVER! Sorry. G @G 1. I read the post already this morning 2. I wasn't offended in the least by the term in question I actually thought about it a bit today (I just moved my comment to the right thread, btw). It's not always easy deciding how to refer to people in a certain age bracket; I just think that "elder" is not a particularly fortunate term (makes me think of village elders, to be honest ). As for a similar term, "elderly", I'd use it to describe people of retirement age or older (not those retiring at 40, mind you!).
