On a simple level, I had always thought of conspiracy theories being beliefs of those who question what we are told to believe through the media etc.  Seemingly nothing wrong with that as so much of what we have been lead to believe has been proven untrue or corrupt...off to order my tin foil hat then...

It seems that YouTube's recommendation algorithm has been directing users viewing innocuous content to 'controversial and potentially dangerous content they might never have stumbled on otherwise'. This apparently includes conspiracy theory content.

Wars, assasinations , murders don´t occur in  vacuum. There are reasons. There are interests at stake. There are always interests - even the little old lady next door has a reason she poisons your cat.

Financial reasons ( she might be forced to feed another cat if the neighbours find out  to save her face ).

Envy/jealousy

Lack of empathy

Indifference

Ignorance

Should you question our knowledge about human anatomy and diseases? Sure. This is what scientists do all the time.

Was recently looking at some videos on YouTube about the QAnon phenomenon (Wikipedia), in particular those that included interviews with enthusiasts (see below), and really can't fathom why anyone would believe these notions very possibly put about by someone or several people sitting in their bedrooms in their underpants. Why would anyone believe that the world is led by a cabal of paedophiles (why are people in anglophone countries so obsessed with that subject?) let alone that Michelle Obama is really a man (an idea that to me seems to be highly misogynistic and racist)?

The conspiracy theorists were created by the fake conspiracy news media to muddle the waters.
