Also it just looks really crap

It certainly does. Can’t believe an agent would do all of this without my knowledge.

Just about 200 metres from my office, there is a canal path leading to a big park. A woman was found dead in the canal yesterday afternoon. It is not yet known if foul play was involved.

There is always a lot of drinking going on and some junkies  on that stretch and some homeless people sleeping rough. Maybe an accident? Who knows?

Sad the woman has lost her life- whatever the cause.

My father and his wife were due for attend a family party tonight near us. For personal reasons I declined to attend.

I just heard that my dad suffered a stroke this morning and has been admitted to a local hospital. I’m very grateful that I was able to talk to him. Just now, he’s forgotten that his native language is German. He’s gotten very Denglish. The carers however are great with English. It sounds like he’s being very well cared for.

Welcome to hell. Haiti. And I'm bitching because it's cold out there...

Last night I watched two documentaries by Louis Theroux.

Both were about the violence on the streets, and the links between the police and the armed criminal gangs.

One was filmed in Johannesburg in 2008 and the other in Lagos in 2010.

Absolutely lawless and frightening. And of course, corruption is rife.

I think I also read about El Salvador today. 10,000 soldiers on the streets v gangs. That would be like, dunno, 200,000 or whatever in the UK based on population.

But this is how it is in many (most ?) places of the world.

I'm also unhappy the Corona threads are gone.

Are you sure you want to start this circus all over again?
You can find the information yourself, if you know where to look.

Indonesia bans sex outside marriage. Watch out, holidaymakers in Bali...

Think of the poor locals, and it is so often the women who are punished..  Some provinces already flog people for this (Acheh).  I would think for tourists to the mainly Hindu island of Bali will be less at risk, but have to wait and see.

The World Cup in Doha made a (rightly) big deal about repression of homosexuality, all rainbow flags, etc but fuck all about women.  Guest workers getting pregnant end up in prison   Reporting rape ditto.

I guess you missed the Iranina team not singing their national anthem in the first game and all the other obvious protests about the treatment of women in Iran.

I did see the England football team, (predominantly white millionaires) virtue signalling before the kick off against Senegal.

The Senegal team just stood there looking at them bemused.

P.S. Maybe if they say "Izzy Wizzy, let's get busy", they could eradicate world famine.
