I'm not sure about the generation gap wrt tattoos. I got one age 21 and I am 50 now. I don't regret it and neither would I mind if my daughter (now 16) would get one the moment she turns 18.  And I am as middle class as it gets <_<

I am very middle-class too, I assert. I do not have a tattoo, not yet😉 Is there a discount for older people at the tattoo studio?

I’m now feeling, Ach, whatever…far worse things kids do. The tattoo is actually very well done, small and fine. I managed to laugh at my initial horror 😂

I don't know why anyone would have a tatoo. And especially now that it's the ultimate expression of middle classness.

Why does any teenager do the things they do, they don't think. As my Mother used to say, they all have their "mad half-hour" and if it's a small tattoo, that's very minor compared to some other stuff they could get up to.

@emkay it sounds like you have this under control, well done!

Come back to TT in 25 years when you don’t have a taut skin anymore and the colours fade away 👻.

Looking at the responses on here, you're talking to a bunch of, mostly, women.  Any woman who has had a child already has scars, flabby bits, stretch marks, etc., to deal with, so a fading tattoo will be the least of their problems ;)

I actually felt sick reading this:

China: Footage of women attacked in restaurant sparks outrage

And then I found the video which made me very angry:

Any man who raises a hand against a women is a fucking coward. Full stop.

And is invited to meet me in a dark alley of his choosing, one-on-one.

Especially the guy in the green jacket.

Cnut.

Edit: Advocating violence to combat violence is not cool kids. But sometimes necessary.

Sorry, as a guy, had I witnessed this, I would intervened. I am sad to see no one did.

To me this looks like someone who is a Mafia guy and no one touches him.

A guy attacking a girl like that, well no guy I know would give him the time of day.

I know it was decided not to have any Covid19 threads but I think it's worth mentioning that, over the last few days, there has been a surge in new infections

There were, over the last 3 days, 67,000, 75,500 and.75,000 new cases in Germany...

That's like the peak infection rate back in November last year...

A friend of ours phoned my Nicole today. She runs a taverna on the coast in the next village next to 5 or 6 other tavernas.

She took pity on a sick cat a couple of weeks ago that was hanging around, took it to the vet, got the cat fixed up and the cat hangs around outside the taverna. It is what cats do.

The other taverna owners have all got together and warned our friend " either the cat goes or we will drown it in the sea."

Fucking bastards.

Played to the village oldies the other day... there are hardly any left. Maybe a third of previously.

Covid cleared up good and proper it seems.

Oh that's sad.

My courses have started again, and my oldies have all survived, even the 2 really grumpy ones :o

Was almost accosted by a touchy-feely-in-yer-face over-enthusiastic, creepy guy in the woods yesterday. Managed to fend him off verbally and he went on his way. Phew. But what if he hadn t ?

He was at least a decade younger than me. Guess the heat brings 'em out.

But it has still shaken me. Do I have to now avoid this place and find somewhere else to puff into my Alphorn ?

@optimista - you might want to consider reporting it to the police.

Even if "nothing" happened in your case, it could be totally different another day.

Alone the fact that you are still shaken from this meeting tells me that something needs to be done, so please make a start by informing the police.

What's wrong with being middle class ?

I have an old notebook with telephone numbers. I found the telephone number of a friend from 40 years ago! The last I heard of him he was in Madrid. I phoned twice and explained who I was and who I was looking for. The guy , who obviously didn't know him , hung up twice.

Sign of the times- spam fears etc. I understand but a shame.
