About to make myself a mug of cocoa. Weather grey & damp. Methinks this holiday should be bought to a close & I should drive home tomorrow..

Everything okay there Rob?

I've been up since 5 - so much for sleeping in today.

I had my morning cup of tea hours ago and I'm on the coffee now.

Yes thanks Tappy!

We had three call-outs with the FFW during the night, and have to do verkehrsabsicherung for the Frohleichnam procession for which we are meeting in a few minutes - the night was short!

I'd like to be drinking Horlicks and going back to bed!

Oh, well done Rob.

I hope you all have a good day there and that the sun shines, at least for some of the day.

Açaí margaritas (my own invention). If I'm going to imbibe, I might as well get some antioxidants.

Same thing, on the rocks. We really need to stop meeting like this.

The CA heat wave has begun, finally. B)

I just bought a "Dr Pepper" from a gas station on my way home. I couldn't believe it cost 2.14euro for a dinky little bottle. I've never bought one here before. I was so excited, I couldn't stand it. I don't drink soda much at all but tonight was going to be an exception, a special treat. I opened it, took a big swig and....uggghhhhh! That's not Dr Pepper! I don't know what it is but it's not Dr Pepper!!! I looked at the bottle and sure enough it says Dr Pepper. I looked again, nope it's not diet. AAAggggghhhh!!! How can they change the formula on me? This can't be happening. Yep, it's official, it sucks here.

just like fanta & coke tastes different, so too does pepsi in different areas of our lovely planet. (not to mention guiness for that matter)

It is a bit of a shame and Dr. Pepper isnt quite as it should be, but if you add enough rum, it balances out.

damn good thing you have some rum on hand.

No exact details on hand (im into a small glass of wine myself) but I do remember seeing Dr. pepper imported bottles at an asian store in munich a while back. Not the bottled here stuff, but the true US stuff. (im not american myself, but on a trip in 1994, i got hooked on the stuff)

Get back to me in more lucid momemnts and im sure ill remember where I found it.

BTW. Captain Jack (from Edeka or Plus i believe) is a reasonable substitute for captain morgan. put on Top Gun on dvd and play the drinking game where you take a swig every time they say two phrases in a row (break left, break left etc) and you wont notice the difference

I've got some Appleton Estate "Extra" Jamaican Rum. It'll do in a splash. I can't do drinking games, they get me into too much trouble. I can do trouble on my own thank you!

I'm going back to the States soon so I'll get my fix then. Shall I bring some back for ya? :D

if, by some small chance, you manage to sneak some past security and get it back, Ill double up for you at the biergarten? It isnt an attractive offer I know, but, 2 or 3 pints of munich beer must be a reasonable trade for a pint of the good nectar from the US?

I would like to sweeten the deal, but im burning through my current stock to enhance my patience with my mother in law (who bless her, is here to help with the newborn baby, but it doesnt stop her really getting on my nerves most of the time)
