GB news is really very variable.  Not a fan in general.  Not sure if they or similar are the cause, but I see some so-called msm now opening up a bit on topics that recently had become taboo.  Even the Guardian.  I speak as a Guardian Weekly subscriber of over 30 years.  Gave up last year, and not just because they got rid of my favourite puzzle.  I miss it.   Miss LRB sub too, gave that up too after a fit of mild rage over an article saying it was fine to fuck your pets as long as they did not object too much. Jesus, I am becoming a bigot.

I don'e even know which channel that was. The name was top left but even with my magnifying glass I couldn't see.

I find the topic remarkable. Reparations fir long past dins by thise who sinned and the present generation should be finqnically responsible.

I know all about the reparations being discussed in California and other states. It has been in discussion for years. 

 

My opinion on the matter is mixed. Isn't Germany still paying war reparations or is that finished?

As far as I know, Germany says it has fjnished paying reparations ( though Gteece and, I yhink, Poland , are issuung drnands again.

But reparations fir stuff way beyond our generatiob is surely a different issue?

And, if you lidten to that discussion, most of the interviewed were themselves "non-ehtnic Brits " - so maybe worth satching?

Edit: went to tge eye doc the ither day and git recommeded prescription for glasses ( temporart cos the eyes will change ) and today went to Apollo and ordered gkasses- fir reading and for the street.

I have watched and read many discussions on the subject of African slaves in the U.S. I have also read several books on the subject.

 

Your initial point was about decendants of slaves in San Francisco. That is what I was addressing.

The original series in English is wonderful, but this is a fun and easy way to work on German.  I use the UT too as that format really helps me with language learning.  New vocabulary with all the animal stuff instead of the police stuff too.  😄

I'm already a fan of the latter (a latecomer, first played both parts during the pandemic), so was naturally very curious about the series.
