New series on Sky from HBO about Chernobyl.

Shocking and terrible how they tried to cover it up. Those poor people.

I just finished watching "The loudest Voice"

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6821044/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

It is a mini-series about Roger Aisles who was the founder of Fox News.  It follows him from the founding up to his resignation in 2015 due to sexual harassment accusations.

It was very interesting to watch, as for me it is not somebody who I was even aware of.  So to see how such a person was able to manipulate others and basically foster his very right-wing attitudes through the network was interesting.

Looks interesting. Where is it available? Netflix?

I recorded it from Sky Atlantic UK, where it finished a few weeks ago.

A quick look shows it as being available via Sky Deutschland (Sky Go & Sky Ticket).

I never truly understood the whole Cambridge Analytica story. Christopher Wylie, the whistleblower, was on Christiana Amanpour's show last night. Great interview with Wylie and I finally understand it all. Very interesting and frightening.

If you're interested.

Although I did understand what had happened, this was still interesting.

I thought that he explained things in a very nice simple way.

Although, according to Wikipedia:

Quote

one former colleague explained “We did not renew his contract because he is a compulsive bullsh*tter and doesn’t know what he’s talking about”.[15]

Although, this was published on a right-wing website from an unnamed source!

We have been watching "World on Fire" (BBC 1 in UK).

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8001092/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

There will be another series, and I can't wait.  I thought it was very nicely made and a good an interestingly different perspective on WW2.

I like the way that a lot of series now are made more internationally, I know they do it so that they can appeal to different markets, but I think it also means that it is more realistic and a more interesting storyline.

I do find it amazing that so many of the German soldiers speak such good English when required!!

Although, I don't like the way that all the key characters are too closely interconnected.

That does look good. I will have to check if it is on Prime, Hulu or Netflix. Thanks.

Truly terrifying stuff..

I've read the book. The fate of women in most of the past, and in many countries even now is not that different.
I'm so glad I live now, and in this place. *shudder*

*thinking of the horrible right wingers who would like to put me in these womens' shoes...*

in the middle of a "better call saul" marathon.

yes I've watched it already but they finally - FINALLY - started releasing new episodes so I felt the need to refresh my memory ;)

the character development is just so good. a couple of angels, a couple who are rotten beyond redemption..but the magic happens with those characters who are a weird mix of both.  gah!  Love it.

and for the record, yes I have a massive crush on Nacho.  Sue me.
