Now, this might be tempting fate...but over the last 6 years I've struggled to find decent tradesmen, and have often lamented on the price, quality and availability of such folk. However, like the proverbial London bus, I've just had brilliant service from an electrician this morning (albeit fixing a problem caused by another tradesman), and this afternoon a firm of plumbers has been fitting solar water panels to the roof very efficiently and exactly to schedule. Happy days.

 

In the unlikely event anyone else on this site needs an electrician or plumber in the Eifel (they do Euskirchen too...that's almost Cologne), send me a PM and I'll give you their details.

Came home yesterday from a day out.

Read an email from DHL saying they've delivered a parcel even though I wasn't in.

They put it in the "agreed place" (porch)

 

Couldn't find it anywhere.

Getting ready for a set of challenging calls with the delivery company / seller etc...

 

This morning, at breakfast, I saw the box in the tree house in the garden.

Safe - sound - dry.

Mandy is the 3.5 kilo one! Lana is the other one ! Gentle and kept me busy while I was waiting!

I'm happy that the good weather today allowed me to paint the 8 m low wall on my patio, which was strenuous because I had to move the heavy plant boxes back and forth. Now I can breath a sigh of relief. 

 

I'm also extremely happy that for the third year in a row a pair of Great Tits are again breeding in my nesting box. It's a joy watching them flying to and fro.

After a very long week, including a funeral on Wednesday, we have finally reached what is my weekend.
Persuaded my friend to go swimming with me this morning in one of the local lakes - we had the lake all to ourselves and it was absolutely wonderful!!! Cool water, lots of ducks and fish in/on the water, and the two of us in the middle of everything - pure nature!!!

After a second colon OP this year, very happy to have just gotten the biopsy report today, ‘No evidence of malignancy’. Next test in a year.

Also very happy as my daughter came home to visit 2 weeks ago. Half way through a great bottle of red wine, we spontaneously booked a next day week long holiday for us both to Mallorca. My husband stayed home to care for our cats! First holiday together since she was 9 years old. We had a wonderful time that more than made up for the distance between us since she left home for Uni nearly 3 years ago. Looking forward to our next spontaneous adventure 😊
