Today was a nice day. Many years ago, we rescued 2 gothic style 18th century stained glass windows from the estate of a deceased lady. They were destined for the skip as were most of her belongings. Although we didn't know the lady personally, we realised that she was very art orientated.

We took the windows to a glass restoration Uni faculty and donated them for a future bachelor/master project for a student. Sadly, the glass restoration uni faculty was closed down recently due to funding issues relating to covid. Today, the very nice professor that we met many years ago, and his colleague brought the restored windows back to us. It’s so sad that such specialist skills will be lost due to funding issues.

The windows aren’t valuable though we will preserve them as best we can.

Lovely story!

On top of that, you have just broken the current Toytown record for posting once and triplets were born❤️😂

Topic of despair the past week or so on here. The software or whatever it's called isn't working!😂

I tried to post a picture of a strawberry tart about half an hour ago... still not gone through! ( But I ate it anyway😂)..

John, just in case you're the only one that sees these posts. Another nice moment today. For many months, I’ve been saving boxes and packaging for a nice Russian lady that sells orchids. The last time she came over to collect boxes etc, she seemed kind of afraid to talk to me. It was just after the start of the war.  When she came over today for more boxes I’d offered her, it seemed like she was relieved that we didn't judge her.  She brought me a lovely orchid and gave me a very big hug.

You deserved the hug- you are not judging her because she's Russian.

Collective guilt belongs in the garbage.

I had a nice moment this morning! Out with doggie  Mandy this morning, bright and early, and a bloke with his boxer stopped and the dogs haben rumgesnueffelt. We got chatting in German. I thought he was German and likewise.

Can't remember why I asked...but I did.. " wo kommst Du her?"

" London."

" Bloody hell. I'm from Southend on Sea, Essex."

We got chatting about Hammersmith for some reason!😂

Got filmed this morning by a télévision crew :)... spent, all day in a beautiful valley puffing into, the alphorns, 5 star picnic behind the chapel. As we were leaving one of the natives brought us chilled fizzy, crystal glasses and mumfies. So we stayed a bit longer.
