Why are you happy today?

This is Jiorgos in our village. 99 and the village is getting ready for his 100th birthday.  I asked him an hour or so ago  which month he was born in and he smiled and said " I can't remember."  We have known him for years . He used to work in a circus in Germany in the 1950s.

We love this guy. He bought us a drink and then went for a walk with his dog. Until a few months ago, he was still able to walk up the mountains and collect herbs etc.. Sadly, in too much pain now.

A soul to remember..

Bloody hell! About 10 minutes ago! About 9 pm our ( Cretan ) time. Gorgeous!❤️

Even that tree- its branches hang low and I bash my head against them more often than not😡😂.. it's just a few feet away from us.

I am happy today because I got given a bucket-load of strawberries yesterday.

At 4am I got up (couldn´t sleep any more!), and have now made jam with them!

Just about to have my breakfast now, with freshly-made strawberry jam! :)

I'm happy because Birthday Week is here!

On Saturday, a group of mostly British and some German TTers threw me a wonderful garden party with all the works - charcoal grill, a deep fryer for Indian veggie pakoras, and several kinds of champagne we progressed through. And thoughtful little presents! I am humbled.

Sunday I jumped up and down at the Patti Smith concert, irritating the 50ish year old audience. :D

More fun is coming... ;)

Armenian-Germerican #3 is arriving around New Year's Day, and Oma has ordered the wool for a new blankie.  :D

My kid came home and saw that I was miserable, so while I finished up at work he went out and bought a nice bottle of wine and cooked some Bolognese for supper.

So I finished work, ate and am feeling much better.

It's nice when people know you.

I know another single father who also raised his kids himself after his wife passed away (against some family pressure from what I hear). Both sons have turned out well, and they do kind things for Dad like that, too.

I think in spite of everything going on right now, you are going to be OK.

Bless you, mate. Tough for you. What a great kid you have❤️.

It is not easy for children, either. My mum left my dad for another man when I was in puberty. Actually, before that.

I once - was I 8 or 9? - put some baked beans into a pot and heated them up for my dad, trying to be a good son. He thought it was nice but didn't eat them when he got home. " I don't like baked beans."

Your son is more advanced than I was.

Please make sure you show your appreciation of what he cooked for you. There are moments in life you never forget. Especially if you have a sensitive soul.

Hugs, bruv.
