On his first ever "live" test, my three year old Labrador (Fritz) found 3 truffles.

I started training him during truffle season last year, but after a year's break, we've only had two practice sessions in the garden this week, so I was amazed when he started digging them up on demand (and perhaps more importantly, dropping them on demand too).

Clever boy! What was the reward- sirloin??

An Indian client of mine gave me good- natured grief last week after an incredible victory in the cricket against England last week. He was quick to write immediately after the match!😂

Desperately seeking his WhatsApp location after today!😂

Quiet so far!🤩

I am probably too dumb to strike while the iron is hot and not find him!

Just the company of my somewhat errant son, a crusty pizza, a glass of wine and some good constructive conversation.

Life is about living.

Amen.

I saw a sparkle in my daughter's eyes (now she's in a class that is not a zoo, is being academically challenged and is out of the influence of her anorexic "friend").

Stray cat, Oscar , was easy to coax into the cage. Worms coming out of his arse, toothache, in pain.

Now has 4 fewer teeth, worm treatment working soon and castrated. The vet did the last bit free ( friend of Takis and he knows we care ).

And Oscar can have a somewhat more relaxed life - though we will at some stage leave this fair isle. And then?

But anyway, for now.. no pain.

Be careful what you wish for, alien7! There used to a poll tax in the UK! And it led to Margaret Thatcher's downfall😂

This is Oscar, about 15 months old and a stray outside the village we've been feeding for about a year. He has been  on his own since his brother was poisoned. We got him sorted out at the vet's a couple of week ago ( including 4 teeth removed ). We contacted a police friend in town today, Giannis, who loves animals. He has a friend with a cat shelter and he will escort us there tomorrow to take him to his new home! It is in the middle of nowhere so we would probably never find it otherwise!

One less worry before we leave Crete at the end of October!
