They are so proud of their Northern Principality... They name a fucking Pudding after it!!! Pure class!

Why am I suddenly so reminded of dear old Granddad who, some 45-ish years ago used to greet any visitors with the standard question "dussthalarkgravyonthychips?"

The "fucking Pudding" has little to do with Yorkshire, apart from the name. It's basically the same recipe as Dripping Pudding (dripping coming from spit-roast meat) but was first described as "Yorkshire Pudding" by Hannah Glasse, a Londoner in her 1747 book "The Art of Cookery Made Plain and Easy". Given that man Yorkshire folk still eat it as a separate course prior to the main meat dish (thereby reducing the need for more expensive main-course food) it reinforces the spend-thrift reputation of our noble County.
