Below the Salt was the first Steeleye album I bought (as a student).

I think that was my first too, bought at a concert

Then you probably saw them before I did.  I know that my brother & I saw the Hat tour at Manchester Free Trade Hall.

I cannot remember if we were at the Commoners Crown tour.  Attended most after that up to & incl. Sails of Silver.

Then a big gap until 2004 when my wife & I flew over to the UK to stay with friends in Oxford where we saw Steeleye on the 35th Anniversiary tour.

Got my photo taken with Maddy & Peter.

Subsequently we got to know Ken Nicol & Peter Knight quite well.  Havn't seen them since 2011.

The late Dave Swarbrick

Heavens, I didn't know he had died. He was brilliant.

He died in 2016, aged 75, a remarkable age for someone who underwent a complete heart & lung transplant in 2004

He was probably the best ever folk fiddler, I remember him back in the days of the Jug O' Punch folk club in Brum
