Posted 7 Jul 2006 I'm an ENFP quite clearly so, in fact I love this test, it's great also really useful to figure out what your boss is, and act accordingly the name most people give the test is MBTI, AFAIK, though EDIT - found the link that I used for my MBA: here it is some useful stuff on there about the strengths/weaknesses of different personality types i used it to figure out how to get in my boss's good books (or at least out of the bad books), after figuring out his classification good stuff, it is

Posted 7 Jul 2006 the humanmetrics site is good to work out your results, but not so great on telling you what it means the link I posted before is the best one for the analysis here it is again or just google / wiki on "MBTI"

Posted 7 Jul 2006 @Topsy The MBTI is a trade mark and is a paper test which can only be taken under supervision of accredited Type Professionals and is not available online. The humanmetrics test gives you an MBTI-like score as an result, though.
Posted 7 Jul 2006 ENTP Extroverted Intuitive Thinking Perceiving I'm slightly bermused at that result. Katrina, this is the test me and SiM (he's an INTP, btw) were talking about in the pub last night. ENTP fits you pretty well, I think. This is what you're like at work (apparently): ENTPs generally have the following traits: Project-oriented Enjoy generating ideas and theories Creative and ingenius Bright and capable Flexible and Diverse Excellent communication skills Enjoy debating issues with other people Excellent people skills Natural leaders, but do not like to control people Resist being controlled by people Lively and energetic; able to motivate others Highly value knowledge and competence Logical, rational thinkers Able to grasp difficult concepts and theories Enjoy solving difficult problems Dislike confining schedules and environments Dislike routine, detailed tasks @Dostoyevsky - yeah, I know it's a trade-mark, but I've done the test proper and basically the questions are very similar to if not the same as the humanmetrics test. I'm surprised they can get away with it, actually. Most people come out with the same result on both tests.
Posted 7 Jul 2006 Thank you, Topsy - that's a wee bit flattering that description, the bit about disliking confining schedules and enviroments is spot-on (thinking of my current job, I need to start playing the lottery again, don't I?).
Posted 7 Jul 2006 iNTj Introverted 11 Intuitive 6 Thinking 44 Judging 22 If there's any validity to this then Heiss' review matches pretty accurately. At the same time so does ENTJ and a few others so I'm seeing this pretty much as some quackery based on a bit of standard (quack) psychological profiling. The keirsey.com site calls me a "mastermind" and that profile is even closer to me... except so is "field marshall". woof.

Posted 7 Jul 2006 By the way, there was a very interesting artlicle about the Myers-Briggs personality test (ie, this thing) in a New Yorker article last year. Basic gist is that it was made up by some bored housewife whose daughter took a psych class in college. I personally think it's a bunch of BS, with results that can vary wildly based on the time of day. My ex-employers really loved this thing, but then again they also put a lot of faith in horoscopes.
Posted 7 Jul 2006 @baddoggie, yeah, it's a typical INTJ attribute to dismiss this kind of thing as psychobabble quackery, so that's exactly the kind of reaction that's to be expected the link you posted to typelogic is also pretty good, I used that one for my recent assignment as well I bet Nadia is an INTJ as well ;)
