Posted 12 November I'm third word country citizen who has settlement residence permit in Germany. I've married with a partner from my country and she has never been to Germany. I'm working now and my netto salary is enough to cover for two people, however, next year my partner will study in Germany in a different state than mine and she will get a studying Visa to enter Germany. I've a few questions, please share your knowledge: Can she live in a different Germany state from where I'm living because she will study there? Occasionally, we would visit each other but we don't stay together because different occupations. Can we register our marriage at Buergeramt with the civil marriage certificate provided in my home country? Does she need to be physically with me in the office for registering? Is she allowed to work more than the limited hours for a student, because she is the spouse of a settlement residency? I have a job and pay monthly AOK health insurance. Can she join me as well as a family member as she only has a minijob which earns less than 520 Euro / month? Thank you!

Posted 15 November I fixed the title a little, any member can do that (am not a mod). The only answers I have: "Can we register our marriage at Buergeramt with the civil marriage certificate provided in my home country? Does she need to be physically with me in the office for registering?" Basically, your spouse doesen't have to be present to register your marriage or prove it to the tax office. However, German institutions will demand an official German (not English or French) translation made by a court approved translator. Depending on your country, you also have to provide a so-called apostille, basically an internationally valid version of your marriage certificate. Talk to your Buergeramt and your embassy about this. "Is she allowed to work more than the limited hours for a student, because she is the spouse of a settlement residency?" No. "I have a job and pay monthly AOK health insurance. Can she join me as well as a family member as she only has a minijob which earns less than 520 Euro / month?" As long as your wife is under the income limit specified by the AOK (ask the AOK!), you can add her to your public health insurance (so-called family insurance). You will have to fill out a form every year.
Posted 16 November @Metall: thank you for your detailed reply, I had to disable Javascript again to reply. Why would no one try to fix this forum? This was very helpful to others.
Posted 16 November The powers that be abandoned this forum a while back. We all just disable JS to use it. There are a few other tricks as well.
Posted 17 November @fraufruit: it is sad when people leave this useful website, I joined it late, but it has many useful pots with excellent answers.
Posted 20 November It does indeed. you can still search it if you use your search engine thusly: search for something site:toytowngermany.com replacing 'search for something' with 'spouse visa' or whatever you want to look for. Thanks to PandaMunich for that tip.
