Do some Germans use synonyms unnecesarily?

I always loved US Notre Dame. When I was in the US, I was always puzzled by adverts for Urban Butter this and that. I thought maybe they had dairy cows and dairies in the cities? And was a plus point? "Fully infused with aroma of exhaust fumes".

Sometimes I really enjoy foreign use of English.
In Weil am Rhein there is a beauty/nail salon with the catchy name, "Beauty 4 Skin". That cannot be a deliberate wordplay.
Also, in our nearby airport we are repeatedly reminded over the PA system to "...suspect baggage will be destroyed". Hmm, perhaps we're being reminded THAT suspect baggage...
