Posted 18 March I have read that D-Tickets issued by certain local tariff associations will continue to offer the "custom benefits" the equivalent tickets offer today in those regions, for example free bike transport in Stuttgart and in Berlin and Brandenburg the current monthly ticket allows you to bring one adult and up to 2 or three kids with you after 8pm on weekdays and all day on weekends. I really hope the Berlin "bring a friend" benefit is retained. Might make sense for us (as a family that does not need to commute into Berlin at all anymore) to get a 49€ ticket if that is the case.

According to Deutschlandticket VBB-Abo-Produkte im Vergleich | VBB they will not let you bring other people or a bike on the D-Ticket but they'll let you bring a dog.

I can get MU BE on Monday for about 50 Euro with my Bahncard 25. I just checked on a random Wednesday. Checking on Monday, you can get a Flixbus for 30€, ICE is starting at 90 but not direct, RB for 44. I am not aware of flixbus letting kids ride free but neither does the D-Ticket apparently.

Posted 18 March I can see direct ICE Weds for 52 Euro with BC25. No, the D Ticket does not allow children free, kind of my point. But can on the ICE. Following Weds is 42 direct, or 36 if you change twice. The prices change fast, as the cheaper seat allocations sell out.

Cheers Leon. Shame but I guess it's an amazing deal already so one can't really complain. We are on the edge of the Berlin C zone. The next station outbound is outside it so they pay €88 + €81.65 a month currently. The €49 ticket will save people like that the small fortune €1447.80 a year. I didn't realise it was so expensive to live just outside the C zone.

We can get to Munich on the SBB via Skt. Gallen too. The more options we have, the better. On that subject I haven't been able to find anything to say the Singen-Stuttgart IC/RE train is going to be included. It wasn't originally part of the €9 Ticket but they did a last minute deal. Without those you'd certainly be better off on the bus. And what about SBB trains? When I was in Konstanz last year the train I took to Singen was an SBB train and I wasn't entirely sure if I was allowed to be on it with a BW - regional trains only Ticket.

You rode the Seehas, valid with the 9€ ticket. Regional trains here partnered btwn SBB and DB. Makes sense. https://www.swr.de/swraktuell/baden-wuerttemberg/friedrichshafen/hier-gilt-das-9-euro-ticket-am-bodensee-und-in-oberschwaben-100.html

I didn't realise it was so expensive to live just outside the C zone. The Madness, that I mean. Commuting long distances becomes as cheap as a monthly season for the Stadtbus, or buying a newspaper every day. It will "make sense" financially to commute from Wittenberge or Lutherstadt Wittenberg or Prenzlau to Berlin. Or from Berlin to the Luther- & Universitaetsstadt Wittenberg. Plenty of people do that already, but it will be far too cheap. Lots more will do likewise, will choose to live far from work. What happens when the line is closed for engineering work? Not a few people commute from Berlin, for example to Frankfurt/Oder (why?) Madness. Not to mention the Schwarzbau in Gruenheide with thousands of workers.

Course an even bigger issue is if the Bahn and bus workers and the airport people are all striking at the same time and the petrol stations are also closed!😂 Suddenly the 15 minute city does seem to look enticing! 😂 I have been pretty unwell all week ( flu or whatever ) and a 2 minute city looks even better!!

You mean your Tante-Emma Laden, or rather Onkel-Mehmet-Laden? I think transport workers plan to take what is called industrial "action" on March 27, I noted it in my calendar. And a really nice bloke to boot! Will also have to check my calendar. Both of us have some medical stuff going on ( eyes ) so the car will be out of the question. If I know beforehand, I can order the relevant taxis.
Posted 27 April I thought FDP stood for "fast drei Prozent", nearly three percent (of votes) but Dr Wissing the transport minister is a bit of a joker too: he suggests that people buying new cars should get a free 49€ ticket thrown in. Best response so far: "No, if you buy a 49€ ticket you should get a car for free thrown in"🙃
Posted 27 April Well I finally gave up on my initial order for a D-Ticket, cleared the direct debit arrangement and closed the account in the MVG Fahrinfo app which I used for the order and uninstalled it. I then installed the MVV app and reordered a digital ticket using direct debit to pay and immediately received 2 emails one confirming the purchase and the second confirming the direct debit abo which also contained a button for cancelling the subscription. In the MVV app it now shows the purchase of the ticket and its validity from the 1st of May. Phew, that is how it should work.
Posted 9 June Got my 588€ ticket at last, by post. Went on train trips June 1 + 4. "Saved" money already 🙃
