E-Bay Kleinanzeigen - Zugang gesperrt.

Hi everyone,

I wanted to sell some stuff over Christmas and find I can't access my account. This has been the case all week. I get the following  message:

Ref#: 0.8ad01702.1671805962.2432b0e9 IP#: 85.212.140.125

They say 'try later' but this has been going on for days. The silly thing is that they are not responding to e-mails either.

Apparently, you can't start a new account with an old mail address (unless you are a real estate agent). I am at a loss as to what to do. Has anyone experienced this and can suggest a way forward? I'd be really grateful for any suggestions. Kleinanzeigen doesn't have a hotline, unfortunately - well, there is one for real estate agents apparently, but that's of no use to me.

While I'm here, let me wish you all a merry old Christmas and a guten Rutsch when the time comes.

Greets....

I don't want to bring bad news in advance, but I had the same problem, I used some form on their website to contact them and the conclusion was that my account was

completely blocked, so practically I lost it, so I don't know what to advice you really:

This is the message that I received from them and it seems that I am not the first one:

Hallo,

@mgr it should make sense that you cannot have two accounts using the same email.  Imagine someone finds your email address online (which is quite easy) and starts a eBay Kleinanzeige account.  Not good.  Why not just start a new email account and create a new eBay account.  Simple.  Inconvenient, perhaps, but easy enough.  I have four email addresses, one of which is for eBay and eBay Kleinanzeige.  Just keeps things, for me, tidy.

Every so often, I'll go to a website to setup an account only to be messaged that an account already exists with my email and need to simply request my password to be reset.  I find this a rather small hurdle to keep my account(s) protected from potential fraud.

@bbogdanmircea from what eBay wrote, you must have upset them.  'Abstand von unserem Marktplatz zu nehmen' is a clue.  Perhaps your account was stagnant for a time and deleted.  This does happen often with various shopping websites.  If you are no longer active on them after a time, they delete your account.

They think that somebody else is trying to log into your account so they blocked your IP.  Try another IP like a free wifi somewhere or VPN. They recommend resetting your password.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the advice. I managed to convince Kleinanzeigen that I really was the owner of the account and, hey presto, they let me back in a couple of days ago. So I have been able to get some of my stuff online and buy a couple of things as well.

What I would like to comment on is the strange way the two eBays and Paypal function these days. They seem determined to scare off their customers rather than help. Their service leaves a lot to be desired. However, things have worked out this time so I'm okay, I just have to try and avoid future trouble.

Anyway, while I'm here, guten Rutsch one and all - no böllern, but otherwise go for it. Happy New Year when we get there.

Cheers

Had the same problem trying to open an ebay account in UK. Not allowed. No explanation though... closed my DE account a decade ago. Do they think people never change country ?

I did not fight it. Just thought fuck it. Their loss too if you can t sell. No commission for them.

Unfortunately for me it didn't work, I was using the same account from 2 phones together with my wife, maybe they saw different IPs or something, what is certain is that they closed it and I lost all my history...

Now I am afraid to open a new account even from another email, what if they still watch the IP and they ban also this new account?

I just casually browsed for items and bought some stuff or sold some stuff from time to time, nothing commercially or out of normal usage ... I really don't know why they blocked the account.

They are being over zealous for a reason. Liability for criminal activity on their site. Costly.
