Any Healthy Food Catering Service For Homes?

279 posts in this topic

Dear Friends,

Is there any food catering service in Munich for individuals?

In Dubai we have Right Bite and Kcal delivering our meals every morning in a bag. Looking for something similiar, preferably calorie counted.

Many thanks!

There are a few similar "meals on wheels" operators designed to help those too frail, disabled or ill to cook for themselves in Munich.  They also are helpful as they will alert authorities if you do not open your door when they ring.  If you are on benefits or low pension, you can get a discount if elegible from the Sozialamt.

Lots of people  in our village  SE of Stuttgart  use  Bofrost. : they deliver  weekly frozen complete meals as well as  fruit and vegetables  to your door.

Maybe also in Munich?

Our local Senior's home does meal on wheels for  modest price.  Don't need to be a senior either. Also if you are homebound with a broken leg for instance.

In German:    Essen auf Rädern

Good luck!

Thakns for the tip. I will get that phrase searched.

I am finding it hard to believe that there is no calorie-counted catering service around. Many people want to lose weight, stay healthy, etc. They are usually done under the supervision of a nutritionist. You choose your monthly plan and every day your food is delivered early morning. Also cooking is a very time consuming process and there are many who'd rather have that outsourced.

For now, services for "seniors" will do.

Thanks snowing! We got the right tips, I think we will find something. FYI, this is not for seniors.

There is a very popular meal-kit provider in Germany called Hello Fresh: https://www.hellofresh.com/. Although it isn't exactly what you are looking for, perhaps it's a potential middle ground.

They don't provide cooked meals, rather they send you all the ingredients and instructions and you cook yourself. It also includes calorie information. It saves time on grocery shopping and meal planning.

Have a look at these websites….

https://www.juit.com/de

https://getvoila.com/

If you Google ‘diät essen lieferservice’, shows lots of similar websites.

It doesnt appear these will work. They require manual input, courier delivery, etc.

What works for me is that I choose my monthly plan, pay, and they deliver to my door every morning. But I will check some more.

Because calorie counting does not work in the long term.

I would be tempted to go to the nearest kebab joint, who also likely does a selection of hot and cold dishes at lunchtime, and see if they could accommodate you. People are sometimes flexible if only you talk to them.

People have different requirements. Some choose pre-diabetis plans, some choose low cholesterol... For me it has been working fine for 15 years. I don't have to deal or think about food. Just eat it! Hahahaha.

1st  one looks promising but does not seem to deliver in Munich?

This is not Asia where some little guy delivers food daily.

Be prepared to pay a lot.

If you are talking about the delivery guys... Delivery guys are usually not cooking the food.

These companies (that i linked) outsource it to hotels. But now both have their own kitchens.

Good idea but not a good solution unfortunately. You'd get fat very fast.
