Some Tesla buyers who missed out on big price cuts that could have saved them thousands have lashed out at Elon Musk's electric-car maker.

Social-media posts and a report by Bloomberg suggest several owners were angry after Tesla announced big price cuts this week in a bid to sell more cars.

Bloomberg spoke to three recent buyers who all missed out on reductions of $10,000 for the Model 3 and $13,000 for the Model Y.

"I feel like I got duped. I feel like I got taken advantage of as a consumer," Marianne Simmons told Bloomberg after paying more than $77,000 in September for a Model Y.

"Right off the bat, I'm out $13,306. It's such a large reduction that it's going to affect a lot of people who just bought a vehicle," she said. Simmons told the outlet she'd never buy another Tesla as a result.

Finally after all the stress of reading this tff-forum and checking TSLA account 3-4 times a day and following up with TSLA I have a VIN today for my LR MY White ordered in June. The VIN is from Berlin, but now I am not sure if I should pick it up or cancel the order.
I feel like betrayed by TSLA as they are not giving BAFA subsidy on the new price. Either we take the new price and loose 2k BAFA subsidy or we pay the old price and get BAFA subsidy.

Also, little confused if I should cancel it and order an SR and save 10k€, in these crunch times, or even buy a used ICE car for 25-30k (in that amount one can find a decent car like Jahreswagen)

Will call TSLA tomorrow and ask if they can compensate with something else or offer me something to not cancel my order

If these are crunch times for you (personally) buy a cheap car and only if you really need it, that much is obvious. If you are doing good with little likelihood of that changing and really want some luxury then it doesn't matter if we're in a recession or not. I'd cancel the order and buy a new one ( the cheapest., as the price of the LR version didn't nudge much)  if that's what it takes (i.e., if talking with them doesn't work in your favour). Tesla didn't betray you, they just don't care enough about your personal feelings

Tesla’s 2016 video promoting the company’s self-driving technology was staged to show features that its systems did not have, according to a senior engineer’s testimony.

The video, now archived on Tesla’s website, shows the company’s Model X driving through the city on streets and on highways as the driver’s hands are hovering just below the steering wheel.

“The person in the driver’s seat is only there for legal reasons. He is not doing anything. The car is driving itself,” a text reads before the four-minute video begins.

 

The electric vehicle maker’s chief Elon Musk shared the video on Twitter with the caption: “Tesla drives itself (no human input at all).”

“When searching for parking, the car reads the signs to see if it is allowed to park there, which is why it skipped the disabled spot,” he added.

However, a testimony from Ashok Elluswamy, the director of Autopilot software at the company, says the video was partially staged, Reuters reported.

 

 

More and more evidence Musk/Tesla just makes bullshit claims, to get people to buy these cars, you really have to ask the question.

 

Are the current video's showing FSD in action really true or just another Musk BS attempt to suck more people into buying the software upgrade?

Apparently, VW's adaptive cruise control problems aren't "staged".

 

Volkswagen's adaptive cruise control system attempted to accelerate one owner's car to 100 miles-per-hour in a 30 zone, report says

 

• "I thought the car was trying to kill me," said one man, whose car tried to accelerate to 100 miles-per-hour.

Volkswagen is currently facing a class-action lawsuit in Missouri, over complaints about its Front Assist feature. It was filed in 2020, and includes testimonies from 14 plaintiffs who say their cars suddenly put on the brakes.
