185 Beleidigung: Got a letter telling me I was reported for this. Anyone familiar?

51 posts in this topic

Short story: told a bus driver (after i was already off the bus and the bus was not in service) to go f-himself after he claimed i could no longer take the bus because he didn't like the fact that my dog lost dog hair.

Longer story:  After exiting the bus on the last stop the bus driver bid me come back on the bus and showed me dog hair on the seat.  I told him this is unfortuante but my dog does shed - and there is no law against having a dog who sheds.  This is normal.  He said it is not OK to have on his bus.  I told him he is the bus driver only and does not make the rules of what is acceptable.  DB allows dogs - even those that shed.  What does he think he is - the king of bavaria - making his own rules?  Upon this he said he would call the police.  I was like - for what?? I'll call e police myself.  Then while walking away from the bus i exclaimed he's a f'a**_h___.

3 months later i get a letter from the police simply saying how i would liek to respond to a complaint of 'beleidigung 185'

------

I can't even believe the police department bothers itself with this kind of stuff.  Surely they have better stuff to do?

Regardless, now i'm wondering how serious I should take this and whether i should get a lawyer or just see what happens.

For you that are going to flame me: keep in mind i have to take the bus to munich for work with my dog and it was totally NOT acceptable for him to think he can block my transit route because a few pieces of hair were too much for him.  I've taken buses for years with my dog here and never had issues.

Would mainly be interested in any legal opinions on this for those that have some experience in that area.

Merry Christmas!

Insulting someone in Germany is generally not a smart idea, in particular if you can’t get a clean get away. And it’s made worse if the target is someone with authority given the circumstances. In my -not a lawyer- opinion you’ll have to pay a fine for sure, and it won’t be insignificant.

OP- as much as we love our pets, dogs do not belong on the seat.

You could have done as suggested-apologise/say sorry/ or just not swear at the bus driver.

You escalated the issue.

Poopy dog butts on seats. Gross!

I'm not too fond of the many Great Unwashed who sit on buses, either. I never used to think like that and actually even prefer to wear a mask these days when on a bus.

Dog butts on bus seats? No! Our mini dogs are lap dogs. A bigger dog on the floor.

Sometimes I have witnessed appalling behaviour by bus drivers here. Some years ago here in Harburg, a young mother's baby vomited on the floor. Someone complained , the driver stopped the bus, marched to the back and shouted at the mother: " pay 10 euros now and get off the bus."

She got off the bus in tears with her baby, and I did as well in protest and swore at the driver. I would have paid a Beleidigung fee if it had happened.

Some behaviour should be beleidigt- tough.😡

As idiotic as it seems, the Bus driver has the Hausrecht on the bus in the name of the company.

He can kick you off his bus without a problem for whatever reasons.

If I was in a similar position I would ... brush it off the seat or whatever a

FFS! If you traveling with your dog is making the seats all hairy then you really should be clearing the hair off afterwards.

Whilst I absolutely love dogs, I find some of their owners to be very inconsiderate.

And don´t get me started on those who thing that throwing their dog-poop bags into snow is the right was to get rid of them - when the snow thaws around here, there are hundreds of blobs of red plastic left - yuck!!!

And on the subject of Beleidigung, I actually have a case running at the moment, whereby a customer shouted that I was a "fucking racist bitch". I´m waiting to see what happens.

Sorry robbo,  I meant if there were one or two hairs.  But the whole post was a wind up.   And the dog poop thing is ridiculous, bagged or not.. Many people suggest it is better to flick it off into the bushes.  But it is not.  It is shit and needs to be disposed of.  People should just take it home with them. Like most litter, but more so. I used to be a road sweeper. Extensive experience with dog shit and dead pigeons..

If that is you in the picture, snowingagain, I must say I would have made a marriage proposal on the spot!❤️

Nothing sexier than a road sweeper with extensive experience of dog shit and dead pigeons.

I have proposed to less worthy candidates in my long life!😂

( The problem being.. some accepted )..

Not sure.  It was in Kensington and Chelsea.  So at the time it was an unusual sight.   I met Tony Curtis early one morning.  About 7 am near Sloane Square.  He seemed to be almost as surprised by me, as I was my him.  He was on his way to a cobbler, who custom made his boots.  Well, that is what he said he was doing.  Very charming guy, for 7 am.

I was in South Ken at the time in student digs. Didn't meet Tony Curtis. But I had back problems one day in the street  and fell over in pain. A gentleman helped me - like in the movies.. just trying to remember his name..

From the Carry On series...bowier hat..

Edit: Terry Thomas!

Shame we did not meet at the time, John.  I could have popped you in my barrow and wheeled you home.

We may have shared a joint at Onslow Gardens but my memory fails me! Near the petrol station!😂 With a yellow facade, I think.

Just remembered we are on the Beleidigung thread!😂

Erm, you were ugly, fat, horrible.

Oh! Wrong thread😂

You were gorgeous! What a lovely picture of you!

Aside from your blatant rudeness to a legitimate health concern which everyone else has addressed...

Unfortunately in Germany, your mouth WILL get you in a heap of trouble. There is no such thing as free speech, and yes, the police DO bother with it. You can ask a previous flatmate of mine who paid €1200 for calling a policewoman a "German cow". The same thing goes for language online--insulting someone on a forum or making bigoted statement can also land you in hot water with the Staatsawalt.

And the more you earn, the more you pay. Watch your mouth.
