Would you like to get taller?

I am of average height, no problems. Besides, I could not afford the operation.

Complications are possible, but I would be particularly worried about changes in old age decades after the operation when one naturally gets a bit shorter.

It's definitely extreme and I suppose these men think some/most/all of their problems in life will be resolved by increasing their height. A bit like women who have a boob job because they think their boobies are too small and increasing the size will make their life better.

I did see something on German TV a few years ago about the German drag artist Olivia Jones thinking about having the opposite done and having some of the bone removed and her height reduced as she is over 6'6"

I‘m already 6‘3‘‘ (1.90), so no need to get taller 👻.

So is my wife - and I'm still 170cm.

People (men usually) used to ask me what I got up to with her...

I'm 6' (183 cm) and that's tall enough. Otherwise, bending down would be even harder!

My dad could have something done if it had been around. He was only about 4' 6".

Sometimes it does though.  It's definitely an added dating power since some women don't date shorter men and some men don't date flat chested women. Maybe it's shallow but true.

Even if nobody were to treat them differently, it can also boost their confidence and help them in their life.

I'm short myself and don't have a problem. Never had legroom problems on a plane or in a car. Not planning on getting this surgery. Besides going from 5'5" to 5'8" I'd still be short.

Shorter guys get a lot of stick so I can see why this might seem like a good idea.   Tall girls were given drugs during purberty for  purely social reasons, and there were horrible consequences.   If you have one leg longer than  the other, this could be a good idea.  I know someone who had this since childhood, but the procedure then was even more brutal.   Have a friend here with tall daughter and doctor was worried and suggested giving drugs to stop growth.  Luckily mother said no.  She is not even that tall now.  Same as her mother.  Doctors can be very odd.

FTFY

But we shouldn't believe all that spam...

Here a serious report about men already having too much to handle.

Did she play basketball or volleyball 👻? That‘s really tall for a woman. Must have problems buying clothes.

Your dad was really small. His height falls under dwarfism (up to 4‘10‘‘). How tall was your mother?

That‘s quite short for an Icelandic man. Yeah, I usually have legroom problems in a plane. You wouldn‘t make it in the Viking draft back in the days 👻.

Yep, my dad was a dwarf. Mum was about 5' 4" or so. My cousin Dave , my dad's brother's son , was also a dwarf . My two brothers and I are all 6 footers and my sister is probably about 5' 6".

Mixed family!!

No. 5'5''.5

Suits me just fine. Guess I am lucky to be so unremarkable. I like small men. Short and stocky, preferably. I had two smaller than me. No problem.  Long and gangly ? Not at first glance... Sense of humour and a God in bed could make up for it at a pinch. I suppose. Big dicks are uncomfortable. Small ones initially slighly disappointing and limiting. Which leads to more creativity  so not a real problem if you love him to bits whatever size he comes in. Have not been around much, swear to God, but the variety was there :D

Think this thread has derailed...

I would try high-heeled shoes, 3-4 inches taller seems possible, might need to learn how to walk in them.

Even custom-made shoes would be about 99% cheaper than surgery.

Any medical procedures to get richer?

Asking for a friend ;)

Jokes aside - no, I'm 1.80m.

Even if I was smaller then that's how Mother Nature created me and I'm good with.

1.80m here. No, I don't want to be taller, wouldn't fit in most sailboats! Not to mention f#$% long flights, hitting the forward chair with my knees!

I'm 6' 4" (converts to 1.94m) which has its advantages & disadvantages.

It used to be difficult to fit into many cars but modern designs seem to have improved (or I have slumped).

Also there are some gliders/sailplanes I cannot fit into - also when boarding an airliner they say "mind ze head".

Daughter is 1.84 m

What about people who are "too tall", could they be operated on to make them smaller? 😕 (hope not!)

There must be many disadvantages to being over 2m tall: clothes, bathtub, bicycle, shoes..
