Yeah an awful start to the 9€ ticket summer. The crash looks very peculiar, almost like the train was simply travelling too fast through the curve, if the eye witness reports of coaches simply flipping over are to be believed.

It is worth remembering that train wrecks are very very rare.

 

And that thousands of people die in auto wrecks in Germany each year.

Yeah, awful. I took that regional train several times for hiking trips. In February two S-Bahns collided in Ebenhausen and in 2016 there was a terrible accident in Bad Aibling (12 casualties) . Both in Bavaria.
