Yes that must be an April Fool because I know they are motorising and renovating the HMS Victory as the new Royal yacht.

You don't think that the following is the give-away?

Quote

The case prompted the Conservative MP and former submariner Shiv R M’Timbers to suggest this was exactly the sort of super yacht that could be used by Buckingham Palace.

Haha, good one.

The key to a good joke is including an element of truth in it.

hmmm...

just had a quick search of Mathew Ehret, seems to be pro Chinese and maybe pro Russian, definitely doesn't come across as mainstream and is a possible conspiracy theorist. Have you got anything from a known credible source?

Didn't think so.

I had a quick look as well, point 1 was/is

We have heard nothing from  Sergei and Yulia Skripal in four years now, is that not strange. ???

No its fucking not, the poor fuckers were poisoned, and entered a new identity program, funny that, they do not want others to know where they are, so Putin can find them and have another go at killing them.

Eric is only shit stirring

How does a person get to the point where they are posting things like this?
Utter cringefest.

Meeting Ukrainians who have lost everything to Putin's war has made me take a disliking to him, and now you too.

That two trillion figure is referenced in this article from one year ago

The exact volumes of gas currently lying deep underneath the Black Sea are not yet known. Rough estimates predict that the Ukrainian shelf may contain more than two trillion cubic meters of gas. The exact figure is yet to be determined since two-thirds of the country’s maritime area passed to de facto Russian control following Moscow’s illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014. Ukraine’s state energy company Naftogaz is preparing to explore 32 remaining blocks.

Do you think they sent post cards home to their Boss:

Dear Vlad,

Salisbury is such a nice town with a lovely medieval Cathedral. We met a nice chap and his daughter who settled here from Russia but they became ill just after our meeting, strange that. The chap sends his regards. We need to hurry now to catch our flight. Hope all is well at home. Don't let those dissidents get you down.

Yours, Boris 1 and Boris 2

Eric7 was telling us that Chernobyl is a tourist destination... Could actually feel sorry for the soldiers digging trenches in and around the ruin.

No, but I do like to know or get an angle on the full effects of the war.

Personally I think as long as the Ukrainians want our help we should give it to them, and wish we would give them something with a bit more of a punch. Because it looks the Russian are going to start another major  offensive in the east of Ukraine and will need a lot of help.

You have a point about the Ukrainians needing more help but I believe the war in the east has moved from containment post the Minsk Agreements where Ukraine didn't want to escalate the tension and give Russia a legitimate reason to enter into the affray and presently where Russia has attacked the Ukraine. Whilst the Russians may be able to move troops to the East and have a numerical supremacy, the Ukranian army will also move divisions over and they will be fighting with greater confidence, western supplied weapons, higher morale and on their own territory. All these things come together to create force multiplication. There are a lot in the separatist areas who do not believe in a separate state and will not fight against the Ukrainian army.

That's an understatement, it seems to be systematic murder of the civilian population, the BBC also reported that in one town they separated out men between the ages of 18 and 60 and then shot them. If there is a silver lining to such a deplorable act it is that the Ukranians will fight harder, it will stiffen their resolve. The Russians regrouping in the East is not going to go according to plan either.

It'll be Afghanistan all over again for the Russians but they'll be against a technically far superior enemy.

I have been wondering lately about the bitter attitude towards Germany of the Ukrainian ambassador in Germany. Now he has accused Bundespräsident Walter Steinmeier (and not only Steinmeier) of long having a spider's web of contacts to Russia. I'm so upset of reading what has been going on for years making Germany so dependant on Russia. Here's one of several articles (in German) explaining it all:

Die absurde Mär von den zwei Putins - die Wahrheit ist: Deutschland wurde verraten

Quote

Germany needs a committee of enquiry to clarify how it was possible for the country to become dependent on Putin and thus put national security at risk. Who were the profiteers?
