Russia has signed up 16,000 Syrians to fight in Ukraine

Usefully non-European cannon fodder?

Coffins in Buryatia: Ukraine invasion takes toll on Russia’s remote regions

...“It is becoming clear that a lot of the soldiers who are dying are from the poorer ‘ethnic minority’ republics like Buryatia, Kalmykia and Dagestan,” said Pavel Luzin, a Russian military expert. ... “Unfortunately, the average Russian will care less about the death of a Buryat or Dagestani than about the death of blue-eyed soldiers from Moscow and St Petersburg,” Luzin said. ...

Totally true. This war is for the benefit of Russian ethnonationalism, but the most casualties are minorities colonized by Russia in the past.

Basically, if Ukraine submitted to Russia via @jeba plan, then Ukrainian soldiers would die for Russian imperialism in Poland and Germany...

Indeed, the invasion of the Ukraine has been a very loud wake up call across the board for Europe and Germany in particular and  not only on the economic front!

Indeed. Germany likes to mask it these days, but the country still is terrified of the Russians.

President Vladimir Putin on Thursday signed a decree ordering 134,500 new conscripts into the army as part of Russia's annual spring draft, but the defence ministry said the call-up had nothing to do with the war in Ukraine.

Putin has just signed a decree, effective tomorrow, April 1st, that unfriendly countries who don’t open an account in 🇷🇺 and pay for their gas in rubles will bear the consequences.  Now we’ll see which countries have a backbone.  If governments can’t see him for the dictator he is now, they truly never will.  Ready with my sweaters.

Edit: The heat is on.  😂  Or will it be?  😉

So now we play the game of chicken

Will the EU do what Russia wants, this giving the EU enough gas but  directly helping supporting the Russia  economy, reducing the effects of sanctions

OR

Will the EU do without Russian GAS, probably forcing  several country's in the EU into recession and put more pressure on the Russian economy.

Suspect we are going to take some Russian gas, but vastly reduced, to try and keep pressure on the Russian economy

Several hundred Russian soldiers were forced to hastily withdraw from the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine after suffering “acute radiation sickness” from contaminated soil, according to Ukrainian officials.

The troops, who dug trenches in a contaminated Red Forest near the site of the worst nuclear disaster in history, are now reportedly being treated in a special medical facility in Gomel, Belarus. The forest is so named because thousands of pine trees turned red during the 1986 nuclear disaster. The area is considered so highly toxic that not even highly specialized Chernobyl workers are allowed to enter the zone.

The Netherlands has the largest natural gas field in Europe. We increased the volume lately, so we don‘t need Russian gas 👻.

Maybe the Netherlands should connect it to the end of the Nord Stream 2, pipeline
