I watch quite a bit of "What do the Russians think about the war in the Ukraine" on various media outlets

 

Most Russians will not comment, for fear that something may be done to them, while others know they are being fed bull and openly wish the situation was different, some the minority support the war.

 

Sure if you goto right wing media outlets, they are massif in favour of the war.

 

I  normally go by the rule that most people are nice and decent people around the world, which is my experience. However you always get the people like Putin who will exploit this for their own gains. 

 

I am happy that you that you talk 6 languages, and sure you gain an sight in to the minds of people who have been fed so must shit that they just believe it.  But also people are allowed to have an view on what they experience from various media outlets

I would never endorse genocide or any other serious crimes, I want the people found and convicted for crimes they commit. But I do not think it is so easy as you make out to find and get these bad people.

 

When I go to England, I tell people Germany is a very different country to what it was during the WW2 times, with moral standards. Just staying "Shut up", is more or less does not tell the real truth of the situation. Germany more or less accepts the horrible things that were done, and just wants to act in a moral way for the future. When people complain against Germany most Germans I know just take it. The rest of the world has not learned that Germany is in a very different place now.

 

For a person who talks 6 languages your comprehension skill are piss poor.

Have you ever heard of any German being attacked due to being German? Has anyone ever killed a German civilian to revenge for Nazi crimes?

Actually, the Russia foreign minister just said this. Actually, initially, I thought this was a conspiracy theory "not for public" as he said this at some Italian TV station.

 

But as the government of Israel brought this issue as unacceptable, the Russia MFA issued a responce claiming that indeed many Jews were Nazis and are co-responsible for the Holocaust, and that Israel is distorting "the historical truth". I read it and was thinking like: are Russia MFA secretly working for Ukraine? They are basically pushing Israel out of neutrality. Or are they just idiots?

They will lie cheat and basically do and say anything, even in this case of really "distorting the historical truth" whilst falsely accusing  Israel of doing the same, in an attempt to justify their actions and those of their leaders.

Why was Putin able to do this though. They invaded Ukraine with the support of many of their citizens because of the "Nazi" dangers.

Because they´ve had the attitude that because someone in the past did something to them then the same people could do it again and are not to be trusted. Let´s face it Russia has a bigger Nazi problem than Ukraine but because they´re Russian they can´t be Nazis right.

You could probably get majority support for a US invasion of a Middle East country because of the actions of a small group in 2001 because many Americans don´t trust Muslims and that distrust is continuously fed.

Hell, you could probably get support for the UK to invade France or Scotland to invade England because over the years people are taught that although they should forgive people they shouldn't trust them.

You will never stop wars all the time this attitude is prevalent.
