Hi All,

We are living in Berlin and having a baby soon. We don't have a car, not considering having one soon.

I am wondering can we take a taxi with our baby? Does the taxi have baby seat?

If we buy a baby car seat, it will be really problematic to carry it after the taxi. I don't see there is anything portable.

Thanks

Ask the taxi firms, I bet some of them provide kiddie seats.

Perhaps you just have to order the taxi in good time so a seat can be provided.

I have had 3 children.  Also no car.  But car seat very useful, say if a friend wants to give you a lift somewhere.  Many hire cars and taxis only have booster seats or seats for bigger toddlers, unless you order in advance.  If you are turning up by train somewhere, this is not always practicable.  We use a car share scheme, and they only have a very basic big child seat or booster cushion.   I would add that everyone insists you MUST buy a new one.  If you can get a good second hand one, that is good enough.  After all, the ones in the taxis, etc, are also not brand new.   I have been in a taxi with a mad driver, with baby on my lap.  I would not want to do that ever, ever again.

You can also get the car seat for the baby that clicks into the pram/stroller so this way you don’t have to carry it beforehand  or afterwards. My experience with taxis is they often show up with the wrong car seat even if you order them in advance 🙄
