How do I love thee...

3 posts in this topic

Hi all,

I want to start a thread about love... that type of love that we all read about since the beginning of time, that type that sometimes crushes our hearts but that we all (or most) yearn for...

Feel free to add your own version of how you love, loved or wish to love your beloved

The love

There was one time, a long while back, when the universe came into existence

With all the stars and moons and galaxies and everything around them

But right at the very beginning, when it all started, that's when my love for you was also born

There was no me or you back then, just the love

Much later I came about, and I was born with this longing and yearning for you because of the love

And I started to look for you across the eons and lands

The love was ancient and wise, and it kept gnawing at my young and crude heart

I looked for you in every person I met and I longed for you with every breath I took

Because of the love

Sonnet 130: My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun

My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips' red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damasked, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
I grant I never saw a goddess go;
My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground.
   And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
   As any she belied with false compare.
Just shows beauty is more than skin deep and to love someone means more than loving their looks.

When I was supposed to be doing Shakespeare the English teacher was in her study with the headmaster. Pardon the result...

Ah love... madness of the mind, creeps up from behind and wallops ye goodly. Reeling, stars ensue. Heart beats bumpety, bumpety, bump. Knees weak. Breathing laboured. Stomach knotted. That first, lingering, hour-long kiss. Oh my. Fireworks. Lips a-fizz. Head a-buzz. innards a-flame. Hips joined... humpety, humpety, hump. Mightily, fantastically good. And love thee still I do. And always will.
