Regular job as a side hustle

So I’m self employed, and make a reasonable living. But I’m getting a little bored, and have been thinking about getting a “real” job as a “side hustle”. Mostly for the stimulation and socialising. And obviously more money is never a bad thing.

 

I own my own small company, and it’s running mostly on autopilot, and pay myself as a contractor, when work needs to be done.

 

Does any one have experience with how taxation would work in this case? Would it be perhaps better to just pay myself a company distribution, rather than payment for services as a contractor?

 

Any help would be appreciated.

This is a question for a 'Steuerberater'. Where I come from, a hustle means the same as a swindle.

Where I come from, a side hustle means a side job or an extra source of income. Not derogatory.

It must divide some of us in the U.S., too. I've never heard of a side hustle, but it sounds like moonlighting.

Hustler and side hustle are two different things entirely.

Here’s my take:  Hustler has multiple meanings.  It can refer to a go getter/ambitious type, a swindler, or a male prostitute.  A side hustle is a side job/ambition and is closely related to the go getter term.  Of course swindling and prostituting are ambitious behaviors too.  😉
