Who said that? RT is propaganda for sure and Fox has it's own twisted agenda, regardless of whatever the truth is.
BBC used to be the first place I checked for news but not any more.

Oh sorry thought I was answering Jonny and he´s a lover and believer in "alternative" media.

I'm chuckling at stupid cunts sharing memes made in Leningrad thinking they are oh so much cleverer than the rest of the sheeple. Dumb fuckers.

The irony is that this meme is true. Ukraine has warned Germany about Russia gas bullying, we experience this since the founding of the state in 1991. Every 4 or 5 years, gas bullying and threats that "we will shut down the pipeline".

But for Germans Ukrainians are just some stupid barbarians unlike aristocratic Russians. So, they did it anyway.

If Trump was a president, there might have been a probability of the US involved. Because Trump is an idiot and he tends to do stupid things. But Biden, no way. Zero probability.

The Americans have been warning Germany about reliance on Russian gas for 20 years as well so I think the mistakes run deeper than just underestimating Ukraine. Germany overestimated its own abilities. Time to eat humble pie and I include myself in that because I didn't see any of this coming either. I do hope the end result of all this is that Europe becomes much more self sufficient, not just in energy but in manufacturing. Relying on China to make too many of the things we need is highly dangerous too.

If Trump were still president, the U.S. would certainly get involved. On the Russian side.

Biden has made it clear that the U.S. stands behind Ukraine and will continue to provide them with weapons, ammunition, and training, but will not involve U.S. troops. Unless Pooty decides to make things nuclear, then all bets are off.

How many wars did Trump start as president?

It beggars belief that the leader of a nation with a track record like the US, can publicly say that if Russian tanks cross into Ukraine,  he promises there will be no  Nordstream 2... and people on here will not even consider that maybe,  just maybe the US were heavily involved in its destruction. The nation that lied about weapons of mass destruction,  the only nation to ever have used a nuclear weapon to destroy civilians.  They'd never blow up a pipeline.  Would they ?

Has it actually been destroyed or merely damaged but repairable? The question really is why would anyone want to damage a gas pipeline that has never been  in use and is unlikely ever to be used to transport gas, given the Russians invasion of the Ukraine and Germany's desire to move away from its dependency on their gas.                                 Could be the US but there seems not much return compared to the potential risk of upsetting an ally i.e. Germany.

Exactly. The Germans had already made the decision to buy gas elsewhere, including from the US. NS 2 never saw a drop of gas land in Germany. NS 1 probably never would have seen another drop either. The Americans had far too much to lose by doing something like that and for no actual benefit. Russia on the other hand knew it could destroy its own (defunct) property and sow seeds of mistrust in western governments (as can be evidenced in this thread) as they have been doing for 20 years now. But this is all too obvious for the tin foil hat brigade.

Couldn't edit my post. Just found this -

Quote

Sweden’s domestic security agency said Thursday that its preliminary investigation of leaks from two Russian gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea “has strengthened the suspicions of serious sabotage” as the cause and a prosecutor said evidence at the site has been seized.

Just saw huge headline in BILD about another shock over electricity costs, seems they have done a huge jump again. My very well off aunt (big house and practice) complained that her hydro (as we say in Canada) costs are up 4 fold, told us to wear warm jackets when we visit at Christmas.

The Germans are totally brainwashed on renewables to the point that the EU fined France 500 billion euros for not producing enough green house gasses while German burns coal like no tomorrow.

If you have time interest this interview with  Dr. Harald Schwarz, a professor of engineering at the Brandenburg Technical University  is very eye opening!!!

Could anyone really intelligent like that @murphaph fella explain why an independent investigation of the terrorist attack on the nordstream pipeline would not be wanted by the UN ?

https://press.un.org/en/2023/sc15243.doc.htm

I mean obviously Russia did it,  so wouldn't an INDEPENDENT investigation prove that ?

Or would it possibly show something else ?
