You dismiss him artfully. But fail to elaborate. Interested to hear how nuanced a beating can be in the heat of battle from one with expérience. Seriously.

I will spare myself the video.

Hmmm,

Good to know that US drivers can sometimes be as idiotic and arrogant as German drivers.

Quote

For the second time in two weeks, a sinkhole in a collapsed road in California

has swallowed a vehicle after a driver ignored road closure signs, according to law enforcement.

From my driving seat I can see that I'm supposed to stop...

But then I'm not a pickup driver

To help you understand the temperatures in the North East, -40 is the same in C and F.

The recorded -104 with wind chill in New Hampshire.

Ditto! The next time I tell someone the temp in C and they ask me what it is in F, I will simply say, "-40 is the same in both. You figure it out."

Haha. To me Texas is the most American state of all 50 states.

Which IMO is a very unAmerican way of thinking.

To me, Texas is the worst American state.

OK, maybe it's tied with Florida.

Well, I’m Dutch. That explains it.  In Texas everything is bigger and people were cowboy hats. When I think of America, I think of Texas first. A state like New Hampshire or Nebraska. Hmm, I don’t know them.

Holland is a part of the Netherlands. Bavaria is a part of Germany. Texas is a part of the US. My husband grew up outside of NYC and felt like he was in a different world when he once attended a conference in Texas.

There's your authoritarianism, John.

You mean what I often complain about by both Right and Left?  Indeed! Here the authoritarianism of the religious Right.

Though tbf it iis one of those bat shit crazy Christian places, so not much to do with new Florida stuff.     Strict dres code, no relationships allowed, women and  men even have different beaches.  No going to the movies, nor or course bars.  Even in the holidays.   They banned most music too, including Christian rock (which is something I suppose).   I guess the singers looked nice and smart, with  the right sort of haircuts.
