Pretty much irrelevant TBH, if I could get a safe and tested vaccine against lightning or car accidents then I would take those too.
Posted 23 May 2022 What's it called when you discover there are too many coincidences? In 2019 a PANDEMIC exercise is running, a simulation called Event 201. Remember? It was the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in partnership with the World Economic Forum and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation hosting a high-level coronavirus pandemic exercise (October 18, 2019) in New York, NY. "The exercise illustrated areas where public/private partnerships will be needed during a severe pandemic response to mitigate large-scale economic and societal consequences." The explanation reads. And what do you know, in March 2020 we already had SARS-COV 2 (a coronavirus!) PANDEMIC declared by WHO! Now we have uncovered another exercise carried out in November 2021. Guess which theme? Well let's play from the document...But before that, sit back and be calm! "The exercise scenario developed in consultation with technical and policy experts described a deadly global pandemic involving an unusual strain of the Monkey Pox virus that first appears in the fictional country of Brinia and eventually spreads globally. Later in the exercise, the scenario reveals that the initial outbreak was caused by a terrorist attack using a pathogen designed in a laboratory with inadequate biosecurity provisions and poor surveillance. The exercise scenario ends with over three billion cases and 270 million deaths globally. As part of the scenario development process, NTI conducted a virtual consultation with experts in December 2020. (See Annex A for the list of participating experts.)" I attach link to both Event 201, the one with the coronavirus simulation, involving Bill and Melinda Gates but also link and photo excerpts from the Monkey Pox exercise in November 2021. If you feel the need to get one, by all means. I think the worst viral outbreak in a century has left some with a bit of PTSD - where every loud door banging - or news of some new virus - makes you jumpy. I've met people who still rarely leave their house, and if they do, they're wearing a mask and a visor. That's just nuts, no way to live. Life is full of risks. Protect yourself, but look at the bigger picture.

Agreed, there was a bit more about it on the BBC News at 10 this evening, seems the majority of cases in the UK is in gay/bi men and sex clinic workers. Rules for PPE have been tightened in NHS clinics dealing with STDs.
Posted 24 May 2022 Monkeypox outbreaks are containable - WHO Despite being the largest outbreak outside of Africa in 50 years, monkeypox does not spread easily between people and experts say the threat is not comparable to the coronavirus pandemic."Transmission is really happening from skin-to-skin contact, most of the people who have been identified have more of a mild disease," Ms Van Kerkhove said.

Protect yourself, but look at the bigger picture. Well said. Too many people are still terrified. Look at flying. The amount of people wearing masks on a single flight is still quite high. They never stop and think why the staff on board the plane are not wearing masks and yet they're on that plane working every day. Stop listening to media hysteria and live your lives again.

Does that surprise you, given that masks are still required on public transport in here, perhaps they struggle to understand the difference between taking a short journey on a bus with the windows open and being crammed in a poorly ventilated aircraft for an hour or more journey to and from Germany? Or maybe they wonder if the airlines, in their desperate bid to get passenger levels back to pre-covid days, don't want their staff to present an image that could be detrimental to that goal even if it is not in the best interests of their workers! Maybe it is you who should stop and think.
Posted 24 May 2022 Most airline staff have already had Covid by now, if the number of flights cancelled due to staff shortages is anything to go by.

Maybe it is you who should stop and think. I think you'll find that aircraft are one of the better ventilated methods of transport (info from European Air Safety Agency 2020) . How is air recirculated in the cabin and is it safe? Answer The quality of air provided during a flight is very high. This is due to frequent exchange of air (the entire air supply is typically exchanged every 3-5 minutes) and the High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters which are used on board of most modern aircraft. Airlines and airport operators will work together to ensure that passengers are not kept on board an aircraft without proper ventilation for longer than 30 minutes.

Posted 24 May 2022 Planes have better filters than trains, that's true. If you're sitting next to someone with Covid I'm not sure that would help, mind. Are the rates that high in Munich? I thought they were lower than Saxony? Here in Dresden I still know lots of people who haven't had it at all. (I managed to pick it up on a crowded train, and met up with my boyfriend the day before I got a positive test, but he still hasn't had it. Some people are clearly more resistant!) Still misrepresenting what the vaccines claimed to do, Jonny? Isn't the thrill of that wearing off a bit now that most people have lost interest?
